Be ready to take apart and clean oil stove, constantly neglected.

We only had one night, but it was well worth it. This large cabin has a beautiful open view of the ocean, and is situated on a calm cove. We enjoyed picking berries, paddling around, and walking in the woods. It's close to Sitka so very easy to access. The cabin was clean as were the surroundings (it isn't always but thankfully was this time).

Beautiful spacious 2 story cabin. But I wish it had a wood burning stove in addition to the oil burning stove. Kayaker can't carry that much oil fuel, so we were cold inside the cabin.

Cozy and comfortable. We like a warm cabin, used about 15 gallons over 3 days in December. It’s a big cabin so bringing a generator and lights is helpful. We’ve also gone without and used candles and lanterns. The tide goes out quite a ways so it’s nice to load/unload on a high tide.

Cabin has outdoor fire ring, bring your own wood.

Stove inside is an oil stove, it was easy to work.

A Picnic table on front lower front deck that benches, but it’s good idea to have your own camp chairs.

This is an outstanding cabin, which is fairly close to Sitka. Idea for larger groups since it is much larger that most forest service cabins in SE Alaska. There are phenomenal views from the front porch, and a nice trail system for exploring near the cabin. A group of porpoises hung out right in front of the cabin most days (they were probably always there during the day, but we could only see them when it was calm). The stove worked great, but the front door is starting come come off its hinges, so it can be hard to close. That needs to be repaired. Other than that, one of the nicest cabins in SEAK!!

Cabin was clean inside without a lot of garbage or food outside. Pinks spawned in the creek in front of the cabin at high tide towards the end of our 10 days mid-September, and we found a fresh carcass and bear lay down spot but never saw the bear. Porpoises in the bay a few days when we could see because of the calm. A few crabs in the bay but also some empty spots.

The cabin was swept but much food left behind from others. The oil stove didn't work, there was an airlock and we did not have the proper tool with us to drain the valve. (our bad) but recommend having a cheepo handy by the filter. That being said it was a very chilly night but there was fuel for the next person who had a had the wrench or pliers. But the view and peaceful surroundings was worth a bit of cold.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
