Jordan Lake has a lot of firewood as of May 26 2024. Also there is a grate at the fire pit. There is also a lot of firewood at the Heckman Lake cabin and the SE Heckman Lake Cabin. The trail from the Jordan Lake Inlet to the Jordan Lake Cabin is in very very poor condition.

WHEN I HIKE INTO JORDAN, OR HECKMAN LAKE THINGS NEED TO BE AS THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE.WHAT I MEAN IS, THERE WAS NO PROBLEM RAISING CABIN RATES, BUT THERE HAD BETTER BE FIRE WOOD WHEN I ARRIVE AT CABIN. THE CABIN IS MADE AVAILABLE YEAR ROUND. SO THE WOOD SHED SHOULD BE STOCKED YEAR ROUND. THE OARS TO THE SKIFF WERE NOT ASSEMBLED CORRECTLY, AND ALL AND ALL, THIS WAS ONE OF THE MORE CHALLENGING TRIPS I HAVE EVER MADE UP THERE. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO JORDAN LAKE CABIN FOR WELL OVER TWENTY YEARS, AND THIS WAS BY FAR THE WORST THE WOOD SHED HAS EVER LOOKED. THERE SHOULD BE A BETTER COOPERATION BETWEEN YOU, AND THE ALASKA FOREST SERVICE. EVERYBODY SEEMS TO WANT MORE MONEY, BUT IM NOT SEEING ANY EXTRA EFFORT TO WARRENT THAT RATE INCREASE. I HOPE THIS WAS HELPFUL, AND THAT SOMEBODY ACTUALLY READS THIS AND UNDERSTANDS IT.

Jordan lake always a pleasure . Unfortunately there are no functional boat oars at the cabin for the 2 boats. Something to consider if booking.

Wonderful trip. Cabin needed some cleaning and there was no firewood. Heckman Cabin a couple miles away was in better condition and had wood.
