Had a great stay, the cabin was well positioned over looking the water. Plenty good sized and layed out for our needs.There was some wood available, but probably shouldn't be counted on. There are are some logs stacked on the ground just above the cabin if one were to bring a saw.

The cabin needs a source of firewood if a wood stove is the heating source. In the past, there have been rounds at least provided for splitting, but there was no wood available. We scavenged a few small dead standing trees and chopped with a hatchet. The hot springs felt wonderful, but the tub needs some tlc. A bear or bears seem to have discovered that it is pleasant to be inside the tub and chewing on the handrails. The water was full of bear hair and wood chips…only in Alaska! Overall, the cabin is great, but it does need some maintenance…there are some leaks around the sky lights and windows and they should be addressed.

We were disappointed that the website listed a mooring bouy in front of cabin and that is NOT true.
In addition, the website says we needed 2 gallons of Heating Oil per night and then we haul 6 gallons of that all the way from Juneau and its a Wood Stove!!!
1/3 of the cabins we have stayed in the last 3 years list the wrong critical information.
So frustrating!!!!
Other than these two failures on your website, Eight Fathom Cabin was awesome!
Second favorite cabin now. We will be back for sure!

The cabin, location, and experience is beyond belief. Very comfortable, decent beach approach, connected to logging road, great wood stove. Commercial crabbing and shrimping occurring July-August so boats through the area daily and personal crab fishing a little hard in August.

Cabin is wonderful! Gorgeous view and lots of wildlife. Though we didn't see many bears around the cabin, definitely bring bear spray and make lots of noise when traveling around the cabin, especially between the cabin and the dock. Bring lots of firewood. Stove works great! Bring lots of water or a filter. Nearby stream can be used as a source before filtering (make sure to go upstream to avoid any salt influence). You can load/unload in front of cabin but be aware of the tides. The dock is very nice and only about a mile from the cabin (pretty flat). All in all, an amazing cabin and I would definitely return for a longer stay! Lots to do.

Love that they replaced the finicky diesel stove with a nice wood stove. Just remember to bring your own dry wood!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
