This is a lovely small park. The campsites are paved and quite roomy. The park is small. But that that just makes it cozy. Weve been coming here for years. Always enjoy our stay.

We have stayed at Cranes Mill COE park several times in the last few years. The Lake was down some 21 feet this year, but still a view of the water from our site. Pleasant weather, nice neighbors, good power and water, and the dump station was convenient on our way out. Our ATT service was fair. The park itself was neat and well cared for, the staff was easy to work with, all was good. And the surrounding area with New Braunfels and Bulverde close by, all the shopping and other needs were in easy reach. We will return next year. Thanks

We spent three nights in August. The employees at the gate were incredibly kind. There were maybe 3 other rvs there that weekend, so it was lovely and quiet. The park was immaculate. The bathroom/showers were spotless. Grass was well-groomed. Amazing sunsets! Canyon Lake is very low right now, so we didnt swim. But the campground is lovely and we would come again!

Nice, clean, and small park. Lacks shade, has stickers in all of the grass, but it was well kept. Do not come to fish the bank. The water is super low and the peninsula is surrounded in water weeds. You have pockets of shallow water where you can pick up a couple of bluegill under some rocks by the shore but you need to go to another Canyon Lake park to bank fish well.

We loved our stay at Cranes Mill Park, May 27-31, 2024. We were in site #2 and it was a prime spot with shade and a beautiful view of the lake. The campgrounds were clean, well maintained, and the staff were friendly.

Fantastic campground. Very clean, concrete pads, wildlife, friendly volunteers. No sewer or shade, 50 amp electric. AT&T and Verizon worked good enough to stream movies. Great location to visit lots of hill country events and restaurants. Hoping the lake comes up some before summer.

We enjoyed our stay. A campground volunteer was great and answered questions for us. The lake was extremely low so we walked shoreline.

The park was clean and quiet. Nice lake view, even though the lake is very low, it is still beautiful my campsite was nice and level and had no issues with electricity or water. The surrounding campers were all friendly and pleasant. The dump station was clean. Very enjoyable visit. The lovely lady at the check in gate was very sweet and welcoming. My kids came to visit one day and she was also very kind and friendly to them. Wish I knew her name.

Unlike most of the other parks the tent only loop is just that and your parking spots may not be near by. We have a camper van and had to move to the RV loop. That loop wasnt bad but the views werent as nice. The lake is down over 20. The gate closes at 9pm sharp so dont be late. Otherwise the campground was clean and pretty quiet.

Nicely-developed sites; friendly staff at entrance; reasonably clean restrooms and showers.

The staff were super friendly! The park itself was clean and tidy! My only complaint is to get some water into that lake!

Finding the campground and getting the reservation was easy. The campground was very nice and as presented. Rec.gov sent reminders and checkin was very easy.

Liked the tent camping area. It was well shaded and had enough parking for everyone. I like that visitors were not required to pay for a vehicle pass just to visit. Area could have been mowed and maybe on the website it should state "rocky ground." Tent stakes were more than difficult to drive in but we made it work. Definitely pack the heavy duty stakes and mallet. Also, the rules posted weren't clear about alcohol or rc planes or being able to tie/anchor clothes lines, hammocks, etc to tress.

Traveling through the area and needed one night to refill tanks and dump. Nice clean campground with decent space between sites. Nice hosts and clean (older) bath house that could use updating. Lots of deer in the area, so drive carefully.
@CharlesT783946 · Camped on Apr 5, 2024 at Campsite #42
Great campground! Lots of space, even in the tent-only loop that appeared like it might be relatively tightly packed on the campground map. Bit of a hoof to the bathroom from site 42, but pleasant enough to not be too much of a problem.

The place was clean, hosts were pleasant. Did not use bathrooms. My site was a little un level, high in the front. Would stay again. Used old folks pass for a discount.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
