Malden Lake Campground in Bowie county is located just 29 min southwest of Texarkana, TX with an elevation of 260 feet. There are a total of 39 campsites. The campground is open all year. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 30 and 55 feet. All sites are currently reservable. All sites have electric and water hookups. Fees range from $24.00 to $48.00.

We camped for several days at Malden Lake knowing that the lake is currently down. Even with that we enjoyed our stay at a well-maintained, quiet, lovely campsite within an easy walk to the bathrooms. We were surprised that our site included a dump for our grey tank, but thankful for the convenience. I hope we will return to camp at Malden Lake again.

We are told when they shut down the park it is for upkeep and repairs. We have been coming to Malden park for years and never see any repairs. There has not been a gate ate the entrance for years. The womens bath house needs repairs on tiles in shower room and door. It is almost impossible to lock.We love this park and will continue to come, but hate to see it going down hill and nothing being updated.

The stay was fine but the camp is not being maintained like it should be. Lots of underbrush and dead falls around most of the camps. Dead standing trees all around. The bath and shower houses are run down, dirty, and unkept. No soap at the sinks. We normally camp Maldin a few times a year and it seems to get worse every trip. This review is not to discouraged campers, but hopefully will reach the right people to make some changes.

The campground and hosts were great. Nice and quiet. The bathroom shower building could use some updates. Everything else was very good.

We had a great time- kids enjoyed playgrounds and biking- we walked the short walking trail and they tried fishing but the fish werent interested :)

The campground was beautiful. The Camp Hosts were very friendly and helpful with information about the campground. I will say that the Camp hosts told us that the maintenance of the camp sites was contracted out to a third party. We were not happy with the condition of our campsite, there were bottle caps, papers and just trash around our campsite. The Fire Ring was full of soda cans, plastic and other trash that the last campers tried to burn. We had to clean the fire ring before we could have our fire. We did take the trash and bag it up and take it out to the dumpsters. I think that the company that is maintaining your campsites need some additional training!!

Malden Lake Campground was a nice campground, but our site, #H11, was very unlevel to the right and required 3 sets of blocks to level. That is Not good! Some of the sites need care, more asphalt to show site, and leveling. Otherwise--we thought the bathrooms were OK. There were 2 playgrounds--1 for young children & 1 for older children. 2 boat ramps--that were usable(lake not that low). The campsite, H11, was large, had a fire pit, lantern pole, picnic table & a tent pad(we did not use tent pad). There was plenty of sites for large rigs & most of the campsites were very large. Town of Maud is close with a grocery store, gas, closest Walmart & large restaurants are about 2 hrs away.

We just love Malden Park. We have been coming to this campground since 2005. This last visit was one of the nicest for us. We just wish that the campgrounds were open year-round.

We LOVE Malden Campground. So peaceful, great shade. The biggest drawback is that they aren't open during the summer. I hope that changes in the best future. I don't live far, so it makes for being about to camp more often for me.

Please keep an eye on your belongings and lock up everything at night. There were Maud teenagers causing trouble at night. Hitting rvs. No supervision.

We had campers in the park play extremely loud music until 2 am disturbing other campers and young teenagers body slamming our campers at midnight waking us up and scaring the crap out of us. It was not a good experience
