Tranquil, beautiful place by the Clarks Fork River. Good jumping off point for trails near Cooke City and Yellowstone Park.

Take caution on this one. My site said 39 ft, yep you could do that. The very narrow road makes it extremely difficult to back into. I had to go backwards only one way Road to back into my site. No one was checking site occupancy and I had to ask someone to leave my site. Be bubbling River only steps away was beautiful including the whole Forest Area.

We had a lovely experience at this campground. The host was non-invasive and the area was well cleaned.

Hunter Peak Campground was one of the cleanest, as well as quiet and enjoyable National Forest Campgrounds I have stayed in. Lots of beautiful scenery and good fishing within close proximity. Great week of camping.

Nice campground. Very well kept. Camp host was very accommodating. Bathroom was clean. Each site had a bear box. There was a bear inside the campground, actually our campsite. I ran it off by yelling at it. Then the camp host and I went out looking for it and made sure it was gone. He had an old air siren we used. We had some deer pass through as well. We will be back.

When we entered the West Yellowstone entrance to that National Park nobody knew the name of the campground, it seemed too far for us to drive, and we easily found sites inside Yellowstone National Park. My experience there and earlier at the Grand Canyon National Park has led me to believe signing up for a campsite on your website before we go to a campgrounds is a waste of time. Google searches never revealed where this site was located. Something was very wrong.

Amazing campground. Easy access to Beartooth Highway and Chief Joseph. Camp host was fantastic and offered a number of "tips and tricks" for enjoying the area!

Wow! So Many Mosquitoes! Not sure if it was because of the 2022 flood they had there a month earlier or if that is just the way it is. However, one of the cleanest campgrounds I’ve stayed at , all because the host cares and seems to take pride in it. The host, Dennis, was kind and welcoming. He suggested a few hikes for my sister and I to explore, one of which was a beautiful hike to some falls. The campground was smaller than expected and the campsites were too close for my liking, however they were all filled when we stayed.

We were only there for one night, but want to return to this beautiful, quiet area. The flood had closed some sites, but luckily, not ours. The camp host greeted us and told us about the flooding and some places to go. Super clean pit toilet. They have the bear food storage boxes I like that are up higher on longer legs with the door opening downward so you have a platform to maneuver your items easier. And I loved falling asleep to the sound of the river.

Great, small campground. Camp host was great. Helped us understand what our limitations were due to the flooding. Hiking trail literally across the street

A very nice, small, quiet, perfect setting

The camp site that we reserved was occupied when we arrived. They claimed they had a reservation, however, did not offer any proof. We were lucky in that another site was available (not as nice). There should be procedures outlined on the check-in instructions for this situation. I would suggest the RECREATION.GOV should have some sort of "consequences" when someone takes a campsite that is reserved by someone else. What good is a reservation system if one cannot rely on the reservation.

Clean and quiet. Campground host does an excellent job of signing to let you know what spot are available and when. Fishing was poor.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
