Great camping location! Its safe, and quiet. The restrooms are clean and there are plenty of water facets throughout the campground. The hosts are super nice and friendly. The only downside is that there lacks good access to the river. Would definitely recommend to others.

We enjoyed very much our time at the camping. We stayed at space 12 and 43. The last one was the best because it has direct access to the river. The bathrooms were very clean, and there was toilet paper. The hosts were very friendly also. Finally, the spaces were very clean and well-equipped; there was a secure box for the food to avoid having issues with bears and plenty of access to drinking water. The two main issues were that there was not too much shadow, so it may be too hot in summer. Also, some visitors were very noisy the first night (on a Saturday) they had loud music and started driving around to celebrate something. The other nights, there were no problems.

One of the best sites at Camp 3 Campground. Very close to the water. Great for young children when the water level is low. No rapids and water moves slow through this part of the river. Great for tubing.

I cannot rave enough about how amazing my experience was at this camp ground! Honestly our camp hosts made it all the better. Excellent hospitality all the way around. My group felt very well taken care of. I would recommend staying here to literally anyone. It has plenty to do for people with all sorts of interests. The drive from LA to the campground felt like nothing, very short trip!

Campsite 041 was great. Enough space to fit two large tents and three canopies. A short walk to clean restrooms and an even shorter walk to the nearest water source. There is a rocky hike down to the river from this site, but our little ones made it up and down with ease, as did our seniors. Campsites 38-47 are prime sites for easy river access. Natural shade is limited, but the same goes for most of the river. Our hosts, Kelly and Kent were gracious and helpful, going out of their way to help search for our missing dog. An instant favorite and will be returning.

The campsite was very desolate dismal and sad. I think the entire campground is like that, you hear the river but there was no easy access. We tried hiking down, it was a rugged 2minute hike and so bad that on the way back we got lost. When I think of camping at Kern river, I want to be by the river, several other campgrounds offer that. I was lucky to find another one people cancelled. I spoke to the host, he was very kind and apologetic, to be honest, he keeps it very clean, so kudos to him.

Exceptional hosts who maintain a meticulously clean campground. Next to Kern River and a short (~10 min) drive to Kernville. Highly recommend!

This was a great spot with tons of room to spread out our camp. Plenty of smooth areas for tent set up and an open area for us to play cornhole and bucket pong without encroaching on neighboring sites. Absolutely no cell service for Verizon but we didnt mind. Also, these camp spots are only allowed 1 vehicle but the website misclaims 2 per site. Its $8 a day for any extra vehicles and spot 17 can fit two pickup trucks if needed.

Hosts were very friendly and always making their rounds ensuring bathrooms were super clean and stocked. After many years of coming here this was the first time we did not smell them from our campsite , thank you. They came around and we bought firewood and for the first ever were allowed to have an actual camp fire, the kids were thrilled. Camp site #50 was a good choice this time and well maintained.

We loved our time along the river at Camp Three. We could have used a little more share but other than that the camp ground was beautiful and the facilities very clean. We look forward to another trip.

Overall great campsite. It was right before the bigger group ones so some car traffic during check in, however was farther from all the other campsites so lesa foot traffic near us. Fairly flat and was able to fit 3 different tents and 2 cars. Only leaving 4 stars because the hosts were in general great until the last night when we purchased firewood from them. We bought 4 bundles and left the cash since they werent in their area then they came out and didnt believe us when we paid for 4 and made us open the car to show them. A bit weird at the end thinking that we were lying for some reason.

Beautiful campsite. Great host. Bathrooms were clean. It was pretty warm during the day, but not too cold at night. Nothing unexpected for this time of year. The proximity to the river was nice. Just make sure to keep an eye on the kiddos and pets. Kern can be dangerous. Overall, a great experience. We truly enjoyed our stay!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
