Our stay at San Antonio campground couldn't have been better. The site is very well kept by the two camphosts,The site in general is clean, has wonderful walking paths, and nicely spaced sites. The campground is situated in a beautiful ponderosa forest. Lots of wild flowers. It was a great place to stay and get away from the hussle and bussle of daily life.

Our camp site was very clean! It is always so quiet and peaceful there. We have been coming here for years and will continue to do so. I would definitely recommend San Antonio Camp Grounds to any newcomers!

camp hosts much better than last year but the bathrooms are horrible solid poop filling up the toilets and flies everywhere and the smell is terrible

Great campground in the Jemez Mountains. Site was clean and close to the bathrooms. Hosts (James and Rita) were awesome and had great recommendations. We loved visiting the village of Jemez Springs, where they have a hot spring bath house! Los Alamos is also close and convenient for groceries. Just be aware there are no showers and the toilets are pit toilets. Would definitely go back!

Great campground, great hosts

The campground is too close to the road and the traffic went on late into the night. The toilets were nearly full and very smelly. Thankfully we were further away, but I felt sorry for the RV's that were parked close to them. On the plus side, I like the walk along the stream and the camp host was very kind.I needed to cancel my reservation. but the website would not allow me to do so, only reschedule it. That was very problematic and should be remedy because people's lives change.I would NOT stay at this campground in the future.

campsite was out of water
@Jacquelin423F6 · Camped on May 16, 2024 at Campsite #29
I recommend. The campsite was a little far away from the parking, so having a cart is helpful. Also, the West sun comes in in the evening, so I'm glad we had a canopy. The view is really nice and overall pretty quiet. That toilets were clean and the hosts were great. I enjoyed being right my the river. We hiked to the San Antonio Hot springs from the camp. The sites aren't huge, but we had the space we needed (8 person tent).

Great camping experience

Every year there is no water. I received the email letting me know there would be no water the day after I arrived! Too little too late.
@KeithD8473925 · Camped on May 14, 2024 at Campsite #21
Reserved site #21 because the description said it was a pull-through and over 50' long. The site is actually a back-up site. The road accessing the site is narrow and lined with boulders. I could not get my fifth wheel into the site. The camp host was friendly but there was nothing he could do. All the sites were reserved.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds in the Jemez Mountains. We booked site #5 far in advance, which was necessary since it's an electric site that is much in demand. Hosts were available, friendly and helpful - the problem we encountered was not their fault. That problem was that there was no water available at the time. Now, I fully understand if a campground is still undergoing water testing and they are just not able to provide water yet, but there should have been advance notice of this. I called the ranger district office the day before check-in and they informed me that water "should be available." Unfortunately, it was not and we did not receive an alert email about it until the day AFTER we checked in. Campground is great! Communication between district management and Recreation.gov users...not so good. Sites here are of ample size (we had a 34' RV) and well cared for. Campground is quiet, pet-friendly, and there's a great walk along and down to San Antonio Creek. We'll stay here again...and make sure to bring water.

Absolutely beautiful c-ground with very generous spaces. However, we paid for 4 days of electricity and water. Without any notice, they shutoff the water all day Saturday and Sunday.This is unacceptable!

Great campground near the San Antonio Hot Springs. Nice and shady
@JorgeR1309919 · Camped on Sep 29, 2023 at Campsite #4
Nice quiet location, close to the highway. But still a good spot for a relaxing camping trip.
@SylviaF5A5C9ED · Camped on Sep 25, 2023 at Campsite #4
The only reason I couldn't give this a 5 star rating is that the water was not working at our site and there was no camphost or staff to talk to. The campground is beautiful with great walking paths. The restrooms were clean. Not having cell service was a surprise but it made for a better outdoor experience. The dogs loved it too.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
