Stayed for a weekend in September of 2024. Bathroom was pristine (for a vault toilet). Toilet was in a covered building. Be aware, the site was buggy in the morning and evenings and had yellow jackets when we were there. Good spot for a group to get away and not have to worry about others. There is an established campground a quarter of a mile up the road. Camp host was very nice, offered to take trash for us. 10/10 camp host

This sure was very big campground that had enough room for our family get together. There was enough shade for everyone throughout the day. It only has one fire ring and two charcoal grills for the whole place though and they are all in one spot. There is no water, we were very lucky that our amazing camp host brought us a little extra so we didn’t have to head back into town. He also showed our family to the campsite one by one as we arrived. The coordinates take you straight to the camp Host. There is one vault toilet, that was clean and stocked. There are areas for horses but we didn’t bring any. The road to the site is very rough, one of our group members brought the max allowed camper and it was a slow, hard ride on the camper. There were a few in our group who came in little cars and made it in as well no problem. There are no dumpsters but they offer quite a few free bear lockers. We have Verizon and our group had a few other providers, we all had a few random calls in camp but was able to get internet at the top of the mountain nearby. It is very quiet at night and wonderful. It is an OHV area so watch out for the motorcycles during the day. The drive to Big Bear Lake is about a half hour away and it is beautiful! Didn’t see any wildlife other than birds and squirrels. Big bear also has food, gas, and shops. Our party filled up the RV with water and has a dump station in Lucerne Valley at a little mobile home park for a few bucks.

Nice place, but our 1st day, we had to wait eight extra hours for previous tenants to leave, beautiful camp ground, little dirty. No onsite trash cans, bathrooms were destroyed. Follow all ohv signs, heavily patrolled by Forest Service, looking to give tickets. All in all, was a decent experience.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
