Delightful little cabin. Fireplace is wonderful! Shower not so much. Lovely grounds with relaxing creek close proximity across from the driveway. Several species of fungi. Historic cabin book at location! Bring your own firewood. We will be back for sure!! A treasure!

Guard Station was well stocked and ready for our arrival. We didnt stay long since the outside temps were so high during the day. I hadnt realized the spring was so close and cool. It was the perfect way to cool off during the over 100 degree F days. We spent most of our day there enjoying the cool spray and even the chilly water. Really enjoyed the history of the guard station. Will definitely book again when were ready for a technology reset. Really enjoyed seeing the forest animals early and late in the day. Such a beautiful setting and truly magical atmosphere.

Our family loved staying here. The cabin is rustic but cozy with no electricity but hot water, stocked kitchen, stove, and refrigerator! We loved exploring the grounds, walking to the streams headwaters, and learning about the guard stations history. Campground is closed so very private. It was the perfect place in between tent camping stops to shower, refreeze cooler packs, and rest!

Beautiful spot. Cabin was very clean and we had a great time. We did notice fresh bear scat in the area so watch your dogs! We went to nearby Crater Lake and went swimming at Lost Creek Lake. We will definitely be going back again. Highly recommend!

We have stayed at the cabin for the past 7 yrs. This year was the worst ever, my husband sprayed an entire bottle of clorox clean-up on everything before he would allow me to go inside!! With the black streaks running down everywhere he sprayed I had to spend the entire next day cleaning. I have never seen it so gross and filthy!! With this Virus one would think the Goverment should have to follow their own guidelines & protocols!! To make sure that the cabin was disinfected & safe for us to enter!! Nothing was done. They even came up every day & none wore a mask or practiced social distancing!! They raised the rate 100% for up-keep & maintence, neither has been done. The inside is in the worst condition, fence outside to keep the cows out has been destroyed, would not take anything at all fix it, It was all torn up & cow shit all around, there was no wood, & the enterance gate was unlocked!! With the virus that gate should have been locked, specially since people have no respect and drove up to the cabin at all hours. They could clearly see we were there!! We are totally disgusted & disappointed that the Forest Service has allowed this cabin to get so run down & dilapidated!! We live here, we are up there a few times a year nothing has been done for 5 years!! Im not sure if we will return next year for our annual stay!! Also for those of you that stay at the cabin CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF!! I dont want to spend my time cleaning your gross filth!! People today have no respect!! It has been clean before you leave, If you are a person of value, you leave it better than when you got there!! What is wrong with people today!! Plain Nasty!!

fantastic location but this place needs maintenance. Lots of debris everywhere and a leaking roof and a mattress the dates back to the 30s when it was a Ranger station. The futon was so old that it was unsafe. The irrigation ditch by the house is a mosquito haven. Could have been so nice. could have been

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
