Beautiful location. Cabins are four walls and a floor but its nice to not have to put up and break down a tent. Its right next to the stream and trails. Great location for a large group. Only small issue it the ten mile dirt road getting to the location. Road is not to bad and you can make is in a regular vehicle, just a long drive on a bumpy road. Vault toilet was in good condition. The area is picked clean of firewood so bring a saw for some deadfall. I will visit this location again but next time with a bigger group and hike more of the awesome trails! Highly recommend!

We LOVE this camp site! It's our third time up in as many years, and it's a blast every time. We appreciate the toilet on site and just the seclusion this site provides from the road and other camp sites. It's so close to water with nice trails around. We've learned to pack fans for those HOT summer cabins and also make sure to get a good clean in before setting up the cabin. The place could use some TLC, especially with screens and keeping critters out of the cabins. Happy to do work on them the next time we're up there. Can't wait for our next visit!

Doors were locked and Recreation.gov has failed to reimburse me.

The cabins are perfect for families looking to camp but not tent camping. The restroom is clean and has the toilet papers. I saw many sedan cars around the cabin so yes you can drive your sedan to it. The little waterfall is within walking distance

We had a beautiful time once we got there. We ended up experiencing not receiving the confirmation email with the combination and had to call the 800 number to get combination. But everything worked out great and we had a great time.! I would recommend.

Place was perfect. Same with Dawson's cabin down the road. Clean, remote, all basic amenities provided. Loved it.

Beautiful spot. Road up is very rough and nearest town is 1 hour + so be prepared. Lots of bugs due to the beaver pond 100 ft from the cabins.

Couldn’t have been more perfect! What a great way to experience life in the late 1800’s.

Neat place, if you can't reserve the cabins there are many dispersed camping sites up and down the road. Beats setting up a tent.

We showed up and everything was locked. So we were ultimately unable to stay. I may have missed something about checking in, but any information was unclear or difficult to find.

Drove from Denver for one night at Crescent Mining Camp while stopping at Leadville, Twin Lakes and Independence Pass along the way. Loved the site and it is HUGE. We had two pups and you have access to 2 of the 4 cabins on site as well as an outhouse. There is room for at least 4-5 other tent camping sites and all of it is reserved under the mining camp. It's about 50 yards from the creek and some walkable old closed off-roading trails. Cabin 1 could fit at least 3 large air mattresses and Cabin 2 could fit at least 2. They are sealed off from the outside and have modern windows with screens so you can get a breeze. There are two established firepits, one metal with a grill for cooking and one stone. The private drive locks with a substantial metal gate and using the padlocks on the gate, cabins and outhouse was easy. We will definitely be back! Note - the road to get to the cabin private drive is off-roading, no phone service and rough for 30 minutes coming from the Twin Lakes area. I would not take a normal passenger car on it, we have a lifted Jeep. I didn't think this was properly explained in the details and instructions.

Great cabins! We love that dogs are allowed and our dogs love the cabins. We are especially glad that there is a gate on the road in front of the cabins and we don't have ATVs through there all day and night! Thank you! It was very quiet and peaceful. Love the stream next to the cabins and visiting the beaver lodges. It is great to have a cabin rather than having to pitch a tent. Good things to do are walking along the stream and visiting the ghost town at nearby Winfield.

The Crescent Mining Cabins were wonderful. The facilities were very clean. The one thing that would have made it better is a wood burning stove in each cabin. Thank you.

Its very close to the creek. It is steep to the creek in a lot of areas but still accessible. Very beautiful area.

This camp was a perfect place to get away and hang out with family and friends and be completely surrounded by nature. There is a large, fast-moving creek close by and it's audible from the cabins, but it's not disturbing. Camp is very accessible and not a great distance from civilization should any need arise. The two cabins are bare bones, but spacious enough and dry. A fire pit/grill, picnic table, and long bench are provided. There is no electricity, so plan accordingly. Word to the wise. The mosquitoes were plentiful and hungry. Do not forget repellant or you'll be miserable. We got lucky. A light rain started and mostly sent them away for the rest of the evening. Bring firewood! There is not much there but small branches and kindling. Overall excellent experience and hope to stay there or another place soon. RESERVE EARLY!! These places fill up. I got lucky that this location was where we wanted and even available at all.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
