This is our little paradise! Such a perfectly serene campsite. The host was incredible. We love coming here

Site 7 was the best! Despite the size of the campground our site felt private and was just a short walk to the river. The facilities were clean and camp host was very friendly. Highly recommend bug spray for the mosquitos, but we still enjoyed our stay!

Love this location!

There was hand sanitizer outside the restrooms! Restrooms were kept clean and smelled fresh with the air fresheners they used. Bugs were kept to a minimum with fly tape. At night they put up a solar light which was so awesome. Camp host is friendly and welcoming. Love this little gem of a spot along the river. We have been waiting a long time to get a spot! peaceful and relaxing.

Absolutely fantastic!! Paul, the camp host, is just the nicest human ever. Accessibility, atmosphere, facilities. Unless youre a die-hard open-camper, this is the hidden gem youve been looking for! Sites 1, 3 and 5 are a little open, but 2, 6, 7 and 8 have great River-access and plenty of privacy. Well be back at least twice a year.

This is a great little campground. Reservations are a must any time of the year. It sits right along the South Platte and is great for fly fishing. The campground host was super helpful and let us know that there was a cancellation so that we could stay an additional night.Right outside Lake George, Colorado. Nearest grocery store is Divide. Nearest propane is Florissant. There are no hook ups at this National Forest Campground.

Campsite 2 is right on the water. You can step right out of the tent and throw your line in the river. Caught a few trout. Quite a few trees for shade. Bathrooms are clean. No bear lockers. Host was very nice. Lake George has a general store a few miles away for quick supplies if you need them. 11 mile canyon road is a few miles away that is a beautiful drive and good fishing spots.

We arrived slightly early but was warmly welcomed by the camp host. We enjoyed camp site #7. We had a nice river access and shadey area to set up chairs. Very clean and comfortable.

It was so pretty and the river was right next to our site. The guy who works there is so nice. Such a cute little spot with only like 8 spots. It was amazing.

Our campground host on our day of departure informed us we could visit 11mile canyon for free. He gave us a voucher to get in. Very nice campground host.

I love this little campground. If I had another crack at it I wouldn’t pick site #1 as it’s lacking a bit in space and shade, but we had a wonderful time. It’s pretty and the hosts thought of everything.

NO camp host then this guy comes as I’m leaving and accused me of not paying for my site said I didn't purchase my site on here was extremely rude he said he was the manager of the host who was supposed to show up said her name was Laura

The campground is ideal. The camp host was not in residence. reservation placards were not current. The toilets were messy but adequate. The park was clean. Closest verizon service about 6 miles away. Its a very quiet and dark location. occasional road traffic but tolerable. Overall, a good stay.

Always clean and quiet. The camp hosts are available for help but do not intrude the experience.

Great camp host. Site site was clean and beautiful right next to the river.

I love Happy Meadows campsites. The host Roger was so very nice and helpful. The sites were so clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a fire and they have firewood there for $8 a bundle. If you have kids to tube, I suggest you start the walk upstream to drop in tubes and get out at the shallow rocky beach turn where many campers are stopped. If you pass that to tube, it gets pretty rough and we had a rescue situation. My 20 yr old got stuck in the middle of the river rapids and it took 30 minutes to retrieve him. It was traumatic for him and the littles to watch. I like the peaceful floating, not the rapids. If you like rapids, then just keep going. eek ;)

We took our family of six, with four kiddos, for 48 hours up to Happy Meadows. We stayed in spot 001. We loved it! We floated the river, met wonderful new campers, ate a lot of s'mores and slept in tents. The kids got dirty, sun-soaked and had a great time. We loved that the campground is small and so we could let our kids run around but still keep an eye on them. The vaulted toilets were fairly clean and did not smell disgusting like a normal outhouse does. We will definitely be back!

This is our favorite place. Over the years it’s become extremely difficult to get a site. Then every time we stay there are camp sites that sit empty for days due to them being reserved, canceled at the last minute, or camper not showing up. It just makes it more difficult for those of us wanting to get these sites and not being able to because those that pick every weekend then cancel the day before.
@JennellC926423 · Camped on Aug 4, 2022 at Campsite #3
The campground is excellent! I will be back.

It rained most of the night but can’t help that. Very quiet and peaceful. Bathrooms need to be cleaned.

Some sites offer the chance to back up close to the river. I had one of those sites, which was wonderful. Sadly, not everyone recognizes that a person’s campsite is considered private space, and I had several blatant intrusions during my stay. It’s a basic riverside national forest campground. Not everyone knows what to expect or how to behave.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
