Made a reservation only to show up and have it closed. Too bad, lovely area.

We have been camping at Wildcat for over 20 years. It is primitive camping at its best when the lake has water. In fact, no improvements are necessary, and we liked it fine without a signal to get messages or calls. The night sky is amazing, and worth waking up in the night to enjoy.

Due to the upcoming early closure, we moved our 47th annual Hyatt campout from August to July. How lovely to see our beautiful lake again! Lots of people enjoyed swimming, paddle boarding, and more. We had our favorite sites, and hosted friends throughout the weekend. The hosts were friendly and the facilities well kept. Of course, we'll be back next year!

The campsites were clean, all were close to the lake and the bird songs and variety were amazing. The yellow warblers looked like canaries flitting amongst the tops of the trees. The camp hosts were very affable and helpful. This was base camp for us kayaking here, and at nearby Lake of the Woods and Fish Lake.

Had a hard time finding the camp loop, due to tree removal. Large clean sites. Quiet! VERY clean toilet area. Host came by several times to ensure everyone was satisfied and answer questions. Definitely come back to stay again if in the area.

No showers, but clean vault toilets.

We stopped and camped here on our road trip from Washington to Northern California. Excellent resting spot after doing bunch of activities around Diamond Lake and Crater Lake. Sunrise at the lake was something we really enjoyed. Clean and well kept campsites. Certainly worth a visit and camping at this location.

The site was small and beautiful. But it was a cold night(6/17) and the site is relatively wet compare to most of comp site I went. We didn't prepare well.

Very nice location, even with the lakebed almost entirely dry. Good birding - bluebirds ( both kinds), bald eagle, pine siskins. Bring yellowjacket trap.

I stayed at Wildcat campground. The site was very clean and the host had used a weed eater to knock down the grass around the campsite. The camphost were very friendly. The day before I left I mentioned to the camp host I had to go to Another lake to dump cause the gates were locked going to the dump at Hyatt. He asked me what time in the morning would I need the gates open so I could dump my tanks. I thought that was great and couldn’t thank him enough. The BLM employees and the Rangers are great at Hyatt too.

Had the cg almost to myself. Camp hosts stopped by to check in. They were gracious and lovely. Site and grounds well maintained. Sadly, the lake is almost non-existent now. Water was down to 2% capacity.
@JamesP3218459 · Camped on Aug 26, 2022 at Campsite #11
The hosts were more than welcoming, as well kept the grounds in amazing condition, restrooms included. Nature was against as far as not much water in the lake and fire danger not allowing campfires, was able to still enjoy ourselves. Even took the wife and kids hiking on part of the PCT. Will be camping here again in the future.

Perfect camping spot for hunting in that area

Super clean bathroom and wonderful camp hosts! Was absolutely blown away by how nice this site was. Would recommend 100%.

I want to give a 5 star to the camphosts that take care of the Wildcat campground. The camphosts do a great job and are very helpful and friendly. The restrooms are always very clean and always equipped with plenty of toilet paper. The actual campsites are always picked up and clean after the campers leave that campsite by the camphosts. It’s sad that they drain this lake 24/7. But I still love coming out here to Haytt Lake at Wildcat campground. There are still plenty of wildlife to sit back and watch. It is very quite and most people obey the rules. It is usually about 20 degrees cooler than the Medford area.

The obvious is that the reservoir is practically nonexistent, but other than that Mrs. Lincoln, the campground is great. The campground only had a few campers, so it was super quiet. The hosts were great. The bathrooms were super clean. We had a really nice stay. Great place if you are looking to get away and do some nice hiking, the PCT is at the entrance of the park.
@MichaelA251288 · Camped on Aug 12, 2022 at Campsite #16
The lake was basically dry when we visited, but if you are looking for a quiet, scenic camp site, this is a great choice.
@AdrienneA74760 · Camped on Aug 10, 2022 at Campsite #W9
Wildcat has great sites away from the main campgrounds. I didn’t mind that there was no water at this location in August 2022 because the CG was almost empty AND it was easy to keep myself occupied.
@YiZ861 · Camped on Sep 25, 2021 at Campsite #W3
The facility was quite nice. Just wish there was a notice about the lake being dried — the campsite photo still shows water in the lake, so we were pretty surprised to find that was no longer the case. Still a beautiful place though. Also there is potable water but you need some real strength to use the pump and it’s easier to have 2 people operating it—-one to pump and one to make sure the water that comes out actually goes into the container.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
