Dover, NH, located on the banks of the Cocheco River, provides campers with access to both tranquil riverside and forested camping options. To the north, the White Mountains offer a wealth of campsites amidst rugged terrain, with hiking, wildlife watching, and breathtaking mountain views. Just to the east, the picturesque Hampton Beach State Park provides camping with easy access to the Atlantic Ocean, perfect for beach lovers and swimmers. For those seeking a more remote experience, the nearby Bear Brook State Park offers campsites nestled in dense forests, ideal for hiking and nature walks. Dover serves as an ideal location to explore both mountains and coastal camping.

Barnes Field Campground is located in the Androscoggin Ranger District, White Mountain National Forest (1 hr 38 min west of Lewiston, ME) with an elevation of 1,286 feet. There are a total of 11 campsites including 4 tent-only sites. The campground is open all year. 7 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 40 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Prices start at $45.00 per night. Activities include hiking trails.
