Excellent campground. We stayed in the 'no generator' loop, and were very happy with the location and the quiet. The campground is beautiful, and well worth a visit. Staff were very helpful and informative. Bathroom (on our loop, at least) was clean and well stocked. And the shower was actually warm!Highly recommended

We've tent camped at this campground twice. We enjoyed both of our visits. It is a very nice campground with a fantastic location and it gets *A LOT* of use. Despite the amount of traffic, the campsites and grounds are generally clean. Both times we've booked, we have only been able to reserve our electric site on the Sycamore loop. Sycamore is convenient as it is the first loop in the campground and appears to be a smaller loop than others. Be aware some Sycamore loop sites (especially 1, 2, and 3) are fairly exposed to noise related to the nearby campground entrance, can be visible to passing traffic, and the light pollution from the campground entrance can be an annoying distraction to some as the lights are on all night. Some campgrounds use directional lighting, a hedge, or a fence (yuck!) to address visibility and light pollution issues - we used a tarp which helped some.Campers should also be aware that the Sycamore bath house has 1 male and 1 female bathroom; both provide 1-bathroom stall and 1-shower stall. Because of the proximity of this campground to nearby hiking trails and the small size of the bath house, bath houses are sometimes unavailable to campers because of hikers. During one trip our bath house was occupied for about an hour by a hiking party unassociated with the campground. Bath houses are ok; could sometimes use a bit better cleaning. Never had a need to contact a campground host, but folks at the entrance have always been very nice and helpful. We'll be back.

Great area,lots to do and see. Only drawback was our bathroom facility in the sycamore loop. It was dirty,and cleaned only once while we were there 6 days.

Beautiful campground and Ive stayed here many time. Needs a bit more care at this point. One of the bath houses has been closed for several years and the next closest was not maintained well.

Be aware visitors center is closed Sunday and Monday! Site was long but tight pulling out with a 40 rv among trees not sure anything above that is gonna fit! Be aware! We got misdirected and called the numbers for assistance that are listed on this site and never did get a call back. Basically google Walmart in Brevard and look for brown signs fyi

Have been visiting many parks in the southeast for past couple of months and Davidson River was hands down the best. The park is scenic and meticulously maintained but more importantly the employees were the finest group of people I have run across in a long time. Kind helpful and hard working

This is my home area campground. It was a great experience staying there for a week. I fly fish and the Davidson River is a tough trout stream in the wild trout sections. The campground is right beside the river. I could walk the dog every morning and check out the river to plan the day's fishing. The staff was so nice every day working to make my stay fun, informed, and welcoming. I will book this place again.

Sites were plenty long for our 42 coach plus tow vehicle. Staff was friendly. Theres no water at the sites but water fill stations are available. Stop at the ranger station just down the road for helpful information and maps for hiking and waterfall sightseeing.

We stayed Thanksgiving week. Second time staying at this campground. Loved it again. Hiked Looking glass rock, did Moors falls, wild cat falls, looking glass falls. Tried some fly fishing, we saw lots of trout and people catching them. Just not us!

Davidson River Campground is beautifully tucked in the Pisgah forest conveniently located approximately 1 mile from town. My campsite was perfectly located along the hiking trails and river for awesome trout fishing..caught 2 nice size browns; 3 small rainbows. The only negative was route 276 is across the river in the distance causing noise as cars drove by. Will definitely return soon.

Staff did a great job at cleaning the area after Helene. My site was clean of all debris including leaves. Restrooms were excellent. This campground went through a period of disrepair a few yrs back. The team managing it now has done an excellent job at bringing it back!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
