No cell phone reception. Always a lovely time at Medicine Lake. The Lake has a very shallow entry so it's really nice for younger kids. Lots of things to explore nearby make it a great base camp too. (Lava Beds National Monument, Glass Mountain, other Lava flows, etc)

The vault toilets were the cleanest ones I have ever visited and the staff were great - they spent some time giving us directions to some of the places to visit and educated us about the tree care. Such a beautiful place! We will definitely be back!

Love this ground! My site was in between the bathroom and the trash. That seemed unfair to be surrounded. But the lake was so close yet far enough for a tree break. It rained over night so have your cover ready. Just dont miss the stars ! There was a loud camper after hours. I wished for more enforcement but got over it after 2 am

We visited when the weather was perfect and the campgrounds were quiet - camper seemed to be all considerate. Enjoyed the stay here - will most likely return.

#40 is close to the water and out of the wind. Fishing is off the hook. Great place to get away.

The campgrounds were clean and well maintained. The only problem we had was a family that came in our second night and rode quads throughout the campsite each night and early mornings. We called rangers, but the area was not patrolled.

Camp ground was nice and clean, lake was very low but good fishing, trails were good, if your pulling a trailer or boat into medicine lake from highway 89 beware it is so bad trailer springs are being broken in half, also they will not let you fill your trailer tank with water with anything other than a water container.

We had a great time at Medicine Lake and the bathrooms were very clean. We camped in early July so be prepared for cold nights. I was great.

The road in off Harris springs is horrible to medicine lake. There was no boat dock in the lake during 4th of July weekend this year.

Out trip was great. Our campsite was spacious and lots of shade. The website to make reservations was hard to use. We are ready to go back if we can get another reservation.

Stayed in A.H. Hogue. We arrived during the Pit River Tribe's annual time in the Medicine Campground. We had reservations in Hogue. It was quiet, pleasant and reverent. It wasn't until later when they closed Burney due to covid and all those displaced campers decided to come to Medicine Lake that it became loud, drunk and obnoxious. On Friday evening there was an evacuation due to the nearby fire. The rangers and sheriff dept did an orderly order of evacuation and we left. Most of the time it is pleasant there as the lake is not a powerboat/ski/waverunner type of lake. It's a fishing, kayak and canoe lake. If people respect that it can be an peaceful retreat.

Camp-site was busy, our spot was not reserved, so the camp host had to find us another spot. Beautiful location though, in a wonderful area.

Not a lot of large RV sites available. Hard to get level. Beautiful area with hiking.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
