Campgrounds Available This Weekend Near Plymouth, MA

Plymouth, Massachusetts, is known for its historic significance and coastal beauty, offering numerous camping options for outdoor enthusiasts. Myles Standish State Forest, located just outside the city, offers camping with access to hiking, fishing, and wildlife watching in a peaceful forest setting. Ellisville Harbor State Park, located along the coastline, provides a chance to camp near the beach, with opportunities for swimming, kayaking, and birdwatching. Cape Cod National Seashore, located a bit further to the southeast, offers beachfront camping with stunning views and access to the ocean for swimming, boating, and fishing. Pilgrim Memorial State Park, located in Plymouth itself, offers a historical site and scenic views of Plymouth Harbor but does not feature camping. Plymouth’s coastal setting makes it a wonderful base for outdoor adventures in both forest and beach environments.
Barnes Field Campground is located in the Androscoggin Ranger District, White Mountain National Forest (1 hr 38 min west of Lewiston, ME) with an elevation of 1,286 feet. There are a total of 11 campsites including 4 tent-only sites. The campground is open all year. 7 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 40 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Prices start at $45.00 per night. Activities include hiking trails.
