Quincy, MA, located just south of Boston, offers a variety of camping experiences within easy reach of the city. To the south, the scenic Blue Hills Reservation provides wooded campsites, perfect for hiking, wildlife watching, and enjoying panoramic views of the Boston skyline. Just to the east, the Nantasket Beach offers oceanfront camping with opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, and beachcombing. For a more remote experience, the nearby Wompatuck State Park offers a peaceful woodland setting with hiking trails, fishing, and picnicking. Quincy’s location offers a balance of both coastal and woodland camping options, ideal for all types of outdoor enthusiasts.
Barnes Field Campground is located in the Androscoggin Ranger District, White Mountain National Forest (1 hr 38 min west of Lewiston, ME) with an elevation of 1,286 feet. There are a total of 11 campsites including 4 tent-only sites. The campground is open all year. 7 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 40 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Prices start at $45.00 per night. Activities include hiking trails.
