Our family enjoys our time every time we go to Mill Run Recreation Area. We plan on making more trips next year and maybe again this year if we have the time. The camp host (volunteer) is always very helpful and friendly.The bathroom is clean and stocked. The area is beautiful and provides a great opportunity to disconnect.If you need ice or firewood, go to Blue Goose Foods on 40 or make the drive into Friendsville, MD. Everyone is so wonderful and helpful!

it was okay, but i was very frustrated at Bolar mountain. There was no way to camp in any of the "reservable spots" even though a lot were vacant.

The extra flowers in the tree stumps were wonderful. Loved the added color.Recommend: Add the tall pole with the hook on the top to hang garbage bags...or to anchor the clothes line to (then to the car), to dry towels (from usage at the beach) since nothing is allowed to be hung from the trees!!!!

A small ACOE. Recently redone sites and bathroom. We were in 18 but 20 looked very good as it was not near another site and near stream. Bathrooms were a bit away. Otherwise fine but other sites in area/lake may be worth it like the outer. Close to WV and PA. Great campground host, she really rocked

Mary, the camp host, is always very friendly and helpful. We were impressed with the amount of work that has been done to reopen the campground after recent flooding. We also appreciate the very clean restrooms. Mill Run Campground is a hidden gem (and we'd like to keep it that way! We love how quiet and peaceful it is!!!)

Looks like most sites in 20 range could take a towable - if you’re brave enough to make the mile long drive with lowish trees and single lane with no pullover Did not use facilities

Tiny little campground with very little public land around it. Nice beach and lake if the water level is up. Sites are small and close. appears some flooding occurred recently. Host was great and very helpful

Spacious sites, cozy campground, very nice lake access and beach, close to areas to explore, like Savage River and Ohiopyle, which we visited. Clean bathrooms, very well maintained campground. We had site 26, which was farther from the water and very private. Enjoyed out camping there a lot.

Sites are extremely small. Their was a horrible odor coming from the still water.
@Katherine46786 · Camped on May 21, 2023 at Campsite #27
The campground host was pleasant at check-in. The site's gravel was so firmly packed it was impossible for me to get my tent stakes hammered in. Thankfully it wasn't a windy night so the tent stayed put just fine. Sites aren't very private so the neighbors will really make or break your experience here. I had a nice quiet night.

We camped in site 15. I would not recommend this site. It rained on our second day and our site was totally flooded under about two inches of water. We were informed after that the lower level of the campground was totally under water two weeks earlier. There is a lot of local activity here starting very early as everyone fishes here. Boat traffic starts at 6 am daily, rain or shine. People were nice but we won’t be returning to this campground.

We enjoyed our stays at the campground (two weekends in a row - once with our granddaughter and once just the two of us, and we plan to go back). We drove a short distance to Confluence, PA for a very nice bike ride and lunch at Mitch's. We rented bikes in town and headed toward Ohiopyle State Park on a scenic trail alongside a river with great views of the rafters and kayakers.

Love the campground. The quit time was the issue. I get people talking and carrying on, I’m good with that! The Fireworks at 11:30 pm and the generators running all night was a bit much..

Don’t leave anything on beach. Trash cops will take it!!!!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
