We were unable to reach the campsite due to the closure of the access road. There was no notice of this closure and no explanation was provided of why the access was denied. We were able to disperse camp at a lower elevation but this was disappointing as we were looking forward to the Warner Lake location.

Wonderful campsite nestled within an aspen grove. The road up was a bit difficult, with AWD it was fine though I think it may not be possible to do so without. We never met the camp hosts which was strange but beyond that it was fine. Note that these sites do indeed have food containers at each campsite! Beautiful sights on the way up and down, highly recommend this special campsite especially for seeing Moab and the surrounding national parks.

Couldn't get there duo to road construction. Tried the given detour instructions, no luck. Went to route 128 trying to get there via Castle Valley. The lake was 28 miles from 128 but the road construction closure was at the 25 mile mark. A local confirmed that the lake was inaccessible via that route either. As an alternate we found a decent campsite along Rte 128.Trusting recreation.gov in the future is questionable. I came in from San Francisco, my sister and her husband came in from Denver to meet up there.

Beautiful spot in the aspens, deer walking through camp, much cooler than Moab. Very twisty, but well maintained roads to get there. Nice bike or hiking trails nearby. Campground well maintained. Lake pretty but smaller than expected. Would definitely go here again.

We stayed in sites 2 and 3. We have ATT and had good cell service at camp. Sites were clean and a good size, not too close to others. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was due to the road up to the campsite. Pretty bumpy, but worth the drive. Great access the the Whole Enchilada for mountain biking.

I have never seen a night so dark and quiet. I listened for 5 minutes and heard nothing. Totally magic!

Road to get up there took quite a long time and was a bit rough (despite following instructions under getting here on facility information page of campsite on recreation.gov). But - the quietness, beautiful aspens, and secluded campsites were worth it! Deer pestered us a bit (we were surprised at how close they came to us). We were at site 11 and loved it!

This campsite is in such a pretty setting, surrounded by Aspens and just a short walk from Warner Lake. If I'm in the area, I'll definitely stay here again.

Absolutely stunning campsite! A welcome and cool reprieve from the desert. This campsite is very remote and takes about 40 minutes to get to from the main road (mostly dirt road, uphill). Would not recommend arriving at night as it will be quite dark with no street lights. Still, a hugely worthwhile campsite - not to miss!

I hesitate a little to write this but only because I don't want to encourage the whole world to visit this spot. But Warner Lake Campground is the most beautiful campground Ive ever been to. Its not really close to Moab if you want to be in Moab - but if you don't mind driving or don't care about Moab it is 20-30 degrees cooler up there and the sites are simply pristine. The price you pay if a long washboard dirt road from the LaSal Mtn loop. But I think its well worth the price.

This is a lovely spot and treasured by locals and visitors alike. We were there in high winds and the cabin, built in the 1930's was "solid". Be sure to bring twin sheet to cover the mattresses. Bunkbeds need to be updated, especially top bunk to meet code (no guard rail.) There was a little mouse activity and small black widow spiders. There is no camp host this year so do a "little extra" when you depart and let's all take care of this special place.

Kind of hard to get to, especially the last couple miles, but one of the coolest campgrounds around. Incredible views of the canyonlands and the most incredible stand of aspens I've ever seen. Plus, if you are mountain biking, you can pedal out of camp and right down Hazard County to Porcupine UPS and LPS and to the city of Moab. BTW: Coyote Shuttle can drive you back to camp in the afternoon, if you arrange it with them. So, morning ride from camp down the mountain, and a shuttle back to camp in the afternoon. The best kind of MTB day ever.

Hard to get to at night, as there are steep dirt roads, but we made it and it is worth the drive, beautiful and quiet. No potable water.

Campground was clean and host was very attentive. Beautiful scenery and nice private campsites. Cold at night so be prepared.

A truly excellent campsite - Very clean, well maintained. The lake is just steps from any campsite and so refreshing. The drive up the mountain is no joke (about 35min straight vertical) but once up there, the air is so perfect. Can't wait to go back!

Highlights of this campsite are walkable access to sweet Warner Lake and trails including Mountain View hike with amazing views overlooking Canyonlands and Moab. Early September 2022 was too early for the aspens to be golden, but fields of sunflowers were putting on a show in the meantime.

This has quickly become one of my favorite places to stay when in the Moab area. The campground is clean and beautiful. The facilities are well maintained. And this past stay the camp hosts were beyond awesome helping me out with a small problem. It made our stay perfect and I will be going back again for sure.

Loved camping in the Aspens!
@JanelleH190504 · Camped on Aug 19, 2022 at Campsite #3
We camped at site 3 and it was great. Big enough for my huge 2 room tent and plenty of room for a couple of small ones. Keep in mind the road to get to Warmer Lake is pretty steep in a few spots so take that into consideration with a trailer. Bring your own water. The lake is beautiful and if you want a lake better for swimming check out Ken's Lake in the Valley. :)

This was our favourite campground in 4 week camping trip. We loved how secluded it was and how cool it was at night. All the reasons you shouldn’t go: long drive on dirt road, no flush toilets, no running water, no cellular coverage and popular group campsite. And still we loved it.
@MarcusF5531828 · Camped on Jul 2, 2022 at Campsite #1C
Incredible location with access to so much to see and do. The lake is on the smaller side for those interested in paddleboards and such. The bathrooms are a decent walk from the cabin but it has everything else you need. The windows and doors show the most wear and tear in the building but that is to be expected from something as old as this. Ran into to very little issues with the power with the exception of the morning after a very cloudy day since this runs on solar. As everyone else says, make sure to bring your own water but the little cabin has pretty much all the other basics. No fires unfortunately while we were there due to dry conditions as that is the one thing that would have made it absolutely perfect. You're about 45 minutes from Moab. Cell service was decent for some phones but could be very sporadic.
@StacyH757 · Camped on Sep 25, 2021 at Campsite #15
The campsite was very well maintained and the directions on the website and in the confirmation email were perfect! It is close enough to Moab to plan for some exploring there, but far enough away to feel completely connected with nature. I will definitely stay here again when I’m in the area!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
