Beautiful place with lots to explore. Whether youre in a tent or a trailer, lots of fun to be had! We went riding up in the mountains in side by sides and a bronco, kayaked, swam, did some paddle boarding, and fishing.We did experience some rain off and on a bit during our stay, but it wasnt terrible, and I think it helped keep things a little cooler throughout the day. Just be prepared for it.

We loved our stay. The campground is well laid out and the camp host went out of his way to make sure we had the perfect stay. The trails in Upper Joe's Valley are great for wheeling and paddle boarding on the reservoir made for a great holiday weekend. Can't wait to visit again.

My campsite (#23) was well-maintained, had a decent amount of shade most of the day, and a pretty view of the lake, partially obstructed by trees. The pit toilets were clean and odor-free. The path to the water is a bit of a hike, but do-able, even with an inflated SUP. The only downside (as expected from past reviews) was the atv and go-cart noise. This is definitely NOT a campground you go to for piece and quiet. Quiet hours are not enforced and you're welcome to run your generator all night if you want to. I'll definitely come back, because the campground and reservoir are lovely, but it will be just before or after the place is closed for the season and the grade schoolers in go-carts are back in school.

Beware of Site 25. The campground is great. The views of the lake are gorgeous, and the majority of the camp sites are fantastic. HOWEVER, site number 25 is absolutely NOT a double site. I do my research when booking to be sure that my 25 ft. trailer will fit in a site, so I knew going in that this was garbage to be listed as a double, as I could see in photos on line that there was a single parking spot. I want people to be aware in case they actually do have to RV's or large campers there is no way possible that this should be listed as a double, and if someone booked it that way intentionally they'd be screwed when they arrived. There are plenty of double sites in the campground that work better.

Double site with great view of the reservoir. Close to biff and water. Number 27 is also great with wider apron. Love this campground.

Location is 5 star. Well maintained campground, Some sites close to each other but most are fairly well spaced out. We tent-camped at #27 - great edge of the campground location with open views of the reservoir and surrounding mountains. For activities - there's amazing bouldering all over Joe's Valley, Cottonwood Creek running from the dam east to Orangeville is very scenic. We had rainy weather during our stay and so we did not play on the water on this trip. Some kayaks and boats were spotted - they looked like a fun activity. No cell phone service until we got to the outskirts of Orangeville - which was fine for our trip. Campground is popular with ATV'ers - not noisy in the campground though, which was great. Overall, a good gem of a campground - will definitely plan to go back soon.

Busca mi review completo en @utahmania en Instagram. Me encanto acampar aqu. Tenamos todo lo necesario para acampar y el lugar es precioso. Sin embargo, sera muy bueno que el Estado limpiara un poco las orillas del lago para tener mejor acceso al agua.

First time here and it was great! Very clean. I liked how much space we had. It was a little ways from the reservoir so its necessary to have a vehicle to drive down to the water. No cell service whatsoever, but it was nice to disconnect for a few days.

very clean bathrooms although they were a little far from our site. Enjoyed the built-in canopy on our table which did kind of make up for the long-ish walk to the bathrooms.
@RobertB6182770 · Camped on Jul 18, 2023 at Campsite #15
Campsite was clean and level. Launching kayaks was a little difficult from the closed boat launching facility near the campsite due to the gate being closed and narrow passageway around it as well as the other guests who had taken over the ramp making it difficult to reach the water's edge. The new boat launching ramp is on the other side of the lake and not terribley convenient to campers. The lake is great for kayaking and wakes were few and far between from one or two ski boats. We did bail out a day early as the flying insects were biting and we are both highly allergic to whatever it is they leave behind that makes itchy sores. At the suggestiion of the campground host, we drove up to Grassy Lake, but instead of "nobody up there" we found a thousand sheep/sheep dung and a large group of young boys (Scouts?) camped there. The road was fairly good most of the way, but narrowed to paint scratching limbs as we reached the little artificial lake (dammed for ag use I assume). This was not worth the drive "good fishing" or not. Overall, it's a very pretty area, but not as nice as Fishlake which is closer to home for us.

Excellent primitive sites. The area was clean and the spots are spread out so you can enjoy some peace and quiet

No cell reception. This campsite has a small portion of shade, two parking spots (room for about 4 cars though) and two camp tables. Lots of mosquitoes, bring bug spray.
@WILLIAMM503355 · Camped on Jun 2, 2023 at Campsite #9
nice spot 009 but the areas for tents is not very level. The water spigot just across the road was out of order.
@JulieB4444318 · Camped on May 27, 2023 at Campsite #33
This was a lovely campground and campsite! The bathrooms were clean, potable water spigots were everywhere, the sites had nice spacing between each other, and it seemed like almost all the sites had access to shade. I was expecting access to the reservoir to be walkable from the campgrounds, but it was quite a long walk and the main access to the water is just via the marina. That certainly didn't ruin our enjoyment of the camp though - just prepping future visitors!

Perfect launchpad for bouldering nearby! Love the easy access to water and bathrooms. Clean firepits and sites!

No camp host so there were kids running around screaming most of the day and into the night. Had a couple get into a fight 2 campsites over and got to listen to them scream at each other well after 10pm

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
