Campground was in good shape. bathroom was well stocked. It was VERY cold at night. We camped on the last weekend of October. warm days, cold nights. Probably low 30's, Upper 20's. No water in the waterfall. To be expected with the ongoing drought. Campground was surprisingly full. (only 9 sites)

Beautiful location and fairly well maintained campgrounds. If you come out here please be mindful of fellow campers, we had a sprinter van with blinding lights that was directly facing our campsite and disturbed the night sky view.

No water, very dirty toilet, more garbage than other places and very many flies that do not leave you alone. We left after one night.

There is also little to no shade for most of the day in the whole campground and the only bathroom does not have a latching door. There was also a very large puddle/pond that you have to drive through to get into the campground. Our site, 3, was littered with garbage and broken glass shards which we spent a lot of time cleaning up to better the next visitors experience. The area that looked like it was for a tent was small, had a lot of glass and a board of wood going through it so we set up in the parking spot.

quiet surrandings, close to highway but not noise. 20min drive from gas and supermarket and hotel. Could be below ice point after Octomber

Nice small campground in good location. Sites 2 and 3 the best. 4 and 5 are by the trailhead to the falls, so not the best. Freezing in November!

Not much privacy but most of the sites are far enough apart that it's not a huge issue. Trashcans, moderately clean USFS bathroom, no water. Chilly!

We went up and stayed at rose valley campground during the A-32 Archery deer hunt . Very nice area . Campsite was nice and level perfect for pitching tents . We did not get a deer but just being up there for a few days was relaxing . There is a trailhead up to the falls right out of the campground . Also they do have bear proof trash cans which was nice . Have to bring your own water but thats no big deal . There is one pit toilet .

We stayed in campsite 2 on a Friday/Saturday night in mid October. What we liked: Out of all the campsites, we liked ours the best. It's up on a bit of a hill and seemed the most removed from the others. The views of the surrounding mountains are just beautiful. The bathrooms were relatively clean as far as pit toilets go. What we didn't like: Glass EVERYWHERE! We had our pups with us and I didn't even want them to wander around camp because there was sooo much broken glass. WTF is wrong with people?! Although this is a smaller campground (something we liked because we prefer to typically disperse camp over a campground) it was filled with lots of riff raff and about only have the sites were occupied. One of the sites had about 40 loud drunk dudes, with eight cars at one site, playing loud mariachi music and even shot off a gun in the campground at one point. Morons. Another site, the campers were having an illegal open fire even though there was a fire ban and it was a hot October weekend. This campground is also very popular with day hikers and OHV users. Constant traffic in and out of the campground allll day long. If you are looking for a chill, peaceful camping experience... This is NOT the spot to go to. We definitely will not be returning. Too bad Park Rangers can't make the occasional stop in to make sure folks aren't acting a fool.

At the gate, by campsite #2, we took a 2 mile up hill hike to see an incredible view. Nothing like getting back to nature.

Campground was completely empty on weekdays except for visitors to waterfall. Waterfall walk was easy and water was still falling.

Restrooms needed toilet paper and cleaning. In terms of being swept out of all the paper on the floor.

The waterfall makes this campground great. Some sites are tough to get a trailer parked, but quiet with dark skies for stars.

Nice little campground nestled into a high valley. The spaces aren't heavily screened from each other, but they're spread out well with generous space around them. You're miles from the nearest highway, so the quiet is intense. If you're looking at an aerial photo, the sites are numbered counter-clockwise from the entrance, with #3 and #4 at the far end of the single loop. Some sites are suitable for decent-sized RVs, some are only suitable for tents, so choose carefully if you're driving an RV. The parking areas of the sites are not even remotely level so bring ramps or jacks. The trail to Rose Valley Falls is next to site #4. This is a very popular trail with day use visitors so you might want to avoid that site if you don't want people walking past all day. On the other hand, it's a decently long site angled for easy back-in access. The trail and road signage is damaged (the trail sign is completely illegible) and there's more graffiti than you might expect this far from civilization. The single-occupancy pit toilet was clean and well-ventilated, and is convenient to all of the camping spaces. The door lock was non-functional, however. The road in from CA-33 is paved, smooth, and mostly well maintained. There's one very rough spot right at the entrance to the campground, where a low-water river crossing has washed out. A normal passenger car shouldn't have any trouble, though, especially if you take it slowly; the bottom is still firm and presents no traction problems.

Sign indicating turn off for campsite was damaged from recent fires and we missed our turn off for campsite. Went way too far and had to ask for directions from a helpful hiker. The space we were in, #2 was amazing but very difficult to get a trailer into. I would advise those with trailers to book any other site. #2 was apart from the rest and on an incline. Great for privacy but bad for maneuvering. Also no signs marking trail head to waterfall or other trails. Probably gone due to fire but not replaced yet. It is 100% dry camping, so bring your own water supply. No hook ups. Be prepared to boondock.

The campsites were clean as was the general area. It was obvious that the management company staff visits and attends to the property including posting the reserved/open signs on individual campsites. The restroom was fully stocked with toilet paper. The views are beautiful.

Beautiful little campsite. And Randy the camp host and his yellow lab were very welcoming and nice to talk to!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
