Clean campsites, great mid-point for exploring the park, easy access to the Summit Lake to Cluster Lakes trail (really pretty hike, even with all the burn from the Dixie Fire), peaceful area, fire buckets were provided near the water spigots to easily put out your campfire at the end of the night.

Lovely campground and lake. Peaceful and close to many park attractions. (Mt. Lassen, Bumpass Hell, Brokeoff Mt, Hiking trails, etc.)

We had two nights at two different sites. We loved it there and would have loved to stay longer. We were lucky to get both sites through other peoples cancellations a few days ahead of arrival. So guys; set up those alerts for your favorite campsites. It might pay off if you check your mail frequently.

Love North Summit campground. Was very excited because Bumpus Hell opened 2 days before we arrived. Unfortunately we had to evacuate because of the Park Fire. Kings Creek Fall hike is a wonderful hike. Was hard seeing all the burned trees from the Dixie Fire in 2021. Campground is very clean and nice. The roads are very nice.

Staying near Summit Lake is great -- you get fantastic access to the lake, good birding, and are near some of the park's great geology -- I highly recommend a visit to the nearby Devastated Area, for example. Summit Lake North campground has some flush toilet facilities unlike Summit Lake South which has pit toilets. Note there is no electric lighting though in the restrooms -- bring your flashlight! The site I was in this trip was pleasantly shaded and reasonably private. Great experience.

Great spot! Quiet campsite despite it being the busy season.

The site was clean and ready for us. It was a bit close to other sites but we were too tired to care much about that. The lake though small was pretty and warm. Beware the leaches if you stay close to shore (they were small, and my BF got them on his legs while he sat on the bank, I didnt have any swimming further out). Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The host was friendly. So overall this was a great spot to camp along our journeys!

This is a nice small campground on a beautiful lake. The host was very helpful. Our site (A1 - an ADA site) had a shaded tent site - essential due to the excessive heat. We shaded the picnic table with a tarp and were comfortable most of the day. Both a vault and flush toilet are very near, and so is the lake.

The site we selected was supposed to be a back-in, instead it was half a pull thru, with someone else in the other half of the site. We could not back in because the angle was wrong for the direction of the one-way road. We had to pull in, and since we are a pickup camper, our door was at the road. The description of this campsite is not good. The host said there have been issues with the site all season. There were other larger pull thrus and none of them had been halved. It was truly half a site, and I should get half my money back. Site A5

Summit Lake North is my favorite campground in Lassen. It was all wonderful. The host is lovely, knowledgeable and helpful.Wish I did not have to listen to someone playing their guitar until 10 at night. Other people's music is enjoyable when I like it and it fits the situation. But varies from distracting to annoying otherwise, esp when it continues for several hours. There is a routinely encountered care on the part of various members of staff every time I visit the park. Professional and enjoyable.

Thank goodness for a lake to swim in after a hot, dusty hike.

This was a clean, happy, beautiful campground. There were plenty of trash cans and bathrooms and the bathrooms were super clean. I loved it here.

This is a lovely campsite with great hiking opportunities and a really nice lakeside with trees. There are lots of trees in this campsite and great places to hang hammocks and shade clothes. If you have a pop up to cover your table that would be helpful. All the fire pits had grates on them and picnic tables and bear boxes were huge. The sites are a little close to each other but it seemed like you could fit 2 tents and 2 cars in most sites. Most campsites had pull through parking spots. I really enjoyed the flush toilets that were cleaned daily. The whole campsite was clean. They even had a large sink for washing which Ive never seen before in a campsite and really appreciated. Everyone was really nice who I interacted with. There's no cell phone coverage in the campsite but there seemed to be a couple spots in the park you could find. The closest place for ice and firewood seemed to be Manzanita to the north. From the south you can buy firewood and ice in Mineral but not at the park entrance. The water does get a little crowded with day use people but there are no motorboats which is great.

The camp host came and visited us with her dog. Super nice lady and was accepting of our dogs. People were so nice. The sites were clean and the restrooms immaculate. Sites are relatively small, but accommodating with a solid picnic table & fire ring.

Some sites had pools of water after raining. A2 & A7. Some campers did not observe the Quiet time hours.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
