Probably the nicest Forest-Service campground weve ever experienced. Spacious shady sites, very very clean, especially the restrooms. The camp host Daryl, was wonderful with great tips for things to do and see. Well definitely be back when were in NW Montana.

We love the area as well as the campgrounds. Everything was in tip top shape. The campground host was so helpful in helping us choose a site that best fit our needs as well as share activities and places we might want to go nearby. We had a great experience because he went above and beyond the usual campground host.

Clean, quiet, and in a beautiful location. We had a nice little hike to the lake. The site itself was pull-through with lots of space. During our stay the campground was nearly empty.

Excellent camp host! Very helpful in getting us a campsite where we would be in the shade; our reserved spot was nearly FULL sun. THANKS! Very clean vault toilets. Well maintained grounds; not over grown but not manicurednatural looking. First time at this campground. Well be returning in future years.

Excellent campground. Darl runs one smooth Forest paradise up there.

Campground was spacious and clean. However you can't just walk to water access, would need to drive back and forth. Just for others information no cell service or logs for sale near by. When we asked the camp host if he had firewood he said "no". That evening while taking a walk we noticed a lot of left firewood in empty camp spots he could've told us about ;(

Beautiful campground, super clean ! Camp host was awesome. A bit of a walk to get to lake but overall , awesome campground with paved trails throughout. Bring your bicycle , super fun to ride around.

Awesome campground! A majority of the sites are pull-through, and close to water faucets and vault toilets. The walk to the lake is easy, but there isnt much access to the water. Daryl is a very friendly and conscientious host.

Daryl, the campground host, is awesome. So helpful and laid back while ensuring everyone is able to enjoy the beauty of the campground! We had our wedding at Group site 1 and it was so perfect. Beautiful pavilion that hardly needed any decorating, gorgeous meadow, and a beautiful lake nearby!

It was a very clean campground. I would definitely camp there again.

Excellent location and very generous sites. Lake is almost vacant even in August. Plenty of first come first serve spaces available. Camp host is one of the best we experienced. Only shortcoming is that only the tent sites have a view of the lake.

All the campsites are very large, we were in site 8 and had so much room for our 34ft camper plus our truck.

Had a blast kayaking at Kooncanusa. The stars were so brilliant at night we laid on the picnic table and counted falling stars. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Montana.

McGillivray campground on Koocanusa Lake is a hidden gem. Facilities are clean, camp host is attentive and personable, campsites are well situated with plenty of space between campers. There are many opportunities for "day trips" in the area including tours of LIbby Dam, Kootenay Falls foot bridge and a paved loop road around the lake.

Awesome camp host, amazing spot to camp. Perfect for family and friends gathering

We never made it to the Campground. GPS coordinates were not accurate. This campground is about 25 miles minimum outside of Libby. If we would have known that...we would not of booked there.
@KeithG940 · Camped on Aug 16, 2021 at Campsite #24
Beautiful, clean, well maintained facility. No cell service for 11 miles. Lake has a great swim area. Awesome cliff jumping. Thank you to the national forest area workers in Libby Montana Area.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
