Great, clean, CoE campground. All sites are paved, but only some are full hook-up. Will go again.

Beautiful park, spacious sites. Cast a fishing line from shore. Fire pits, picnic tables, shower house and full hookups. Cant ask for more.

Tailwater west was a wonderful surprise! The location close to Coralville Lake was very scenic. Loved how quiet it was during our stay and all the options in the area surrounding, kept us busy. We will be back!

Very nice campground, cement pads were a bonus.

The Tailwater campgrounds were bigger than we are used to, we were a stones throw from the water, my husband loved fishing. My son really liked the fossil gorge. We were close to town and I enjoyed shopping and the showers were very nice, hot! We had a great time!

My only complaint is check in time is at two but nobody is at the booth until 3

The location is easy to find. The area is a quaint section of sites. Fully paved and level spots. The pond attached to the area is peaceful and nice to fish off the dock. Showers and bathrooms are clean.

A very interesting and scenic campground. The day use area is part of the campground and uses the same bath house. There is a great paved bike trail called the IRC trail not far from the campground. Devonian fossil gorge was interesting. Iowa city is much nicer than doing business in Coralville. There is a lack of information about checking in. Another camper informed us that the check-in time at kiosk is 4pm. Must register. Overall a very pleasant stay on the west side of tailwater.

Campground is well kept and quiet.
@MalcolmM36CAA0 · Camped on Jun 21, 2024 at Campsite #T12
Awesomely pleasant campground. Beautiful sunny site with a large shaded area behind it for sitting and picnicking. Lots of space between sites. The river trail and fossil area are wonderful short hikes or visits. Lots of special birds on the river trail. Fun to watch all the fisherfolk along the shores of the tailwater.

Hard to get in to loop.

We have been camping in this campground for years. Extremely disappointed this year to find that 2 of the full hook-up sites have been given to volunteer hosts who don't even "host" for that campground. Full hook-up sites are hard enough to come by as it is. One of those sites happens to be the only site that has handicap-accessible access to the bathroom and shower houses. Shame on you USACOE!!! The federal government should know better and DEIA is a top priority for them (I work for them too). To top it off, this site has more "stuff" in it than most residential yards and it looks trashy. Very disappointing.

Love the location and the view. Close to everything!
@MelJudyH0A4F36 · Camped on May 1, 2024 at Campsite #T20
After the local Corps blocked out certain sites it makes it extremely difficult to secure full hook-up sites.
@CathyB3119916 · Camped on Oct 1, 2023 at Campsite #T8
Great camp ground even the ones that dont have full hook ups. That would be the only thing we would like to see improved.
@BruceH7382571 · Camped on Sep 30, 2023 at Campsite #T7
Nice quiet area, especially like concrete and nice level for setting up camper. Lots of people fishing in area
@MichaelH990269 · Camped on Sep 25, 2023 at Campsite #T8
Tail water is part of a large campground complex associated with the Coralville Lake impoundment. The sites are nicely spread out and generously sized. The power post was in good condition and the campground water was clean, clear and without odor or taste.An excellent value.
@ClarenceGE1566 · Camped on Sep 9, 2023 at Campsite #T20
It was good.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
