Two of the four equestrian camps occupied by non-equestrians while several non-equestrian sites sat empty. One non-equestrian group that occupied an equestrian site had several vehicles crammed in and over a dozen people. Maybe one of the group sites would have been more appropriate.

This is our 2nd time here. We love coming here. The campsites are big and set off from the regular sites. The horse pens are a little too small, but you come here to ride not board your horses. Tony the host is very friendly and keeps everything clean. We rode out on the north side (high trail) of the PCT to the Shadow Lakes view point. Awesome ride, not too rocky. We went to Shadow Lake and Lake Ediza, another awesome ride. Quite rocky, if your horses are barefoot, keep hoof boots in your saddle bag. It’s a little technical. I don’t know if we supposed to take our horses on the trail to Minarets Falls, but it was a great ride. And we went out on the River trail towards 1000 islands, we turned around about a mile past the Clark’s Lake trail. All in all it was a perfect week. We will be back again!!!

This camp is for equestrian/stock use only. Do not book if you’re not bringing stock. Be prepared and bring highline and or portable corrals. Trails can be very rocky and narrow.

I was really upset to find that people without horses are renting this site and not being made to move out. There are only 4 campsites for horses out of 150 in the valley. We had a hard time getting reservations and found that the reason was people are renting it without horses. Also campsite 15 is considered a double site and costs the price of a double site, but is really not large enough for two horse trailers and two trucks. the host said they usually have to park one horse trailer in overflow parking. That is not fair to charge for a double when its not. Very upsetting. People with horses cannot camp in the campsites just for people.

Beware: Camp site #15 is not properly represented. They are charging $48.00 as if it was a double site. It is not! Its narrow and with my 3 horse gooseneck and F250 there is only enough room maybe for a addition truck with no trailer. Site 13 is the same size as site 15 and is charged as a single site. Site 14 is charged as a single site and is able to accommodate at least 2 rigs. Site 16 is also double site. They refused to refund a portion of my money to reflect the error. And I expect they will not change the fee they are charging for site 15. They are also allowing non-equestrians into the horse site. The campground host, Tony, is real nice.

Great horse camp. Trails range from moderate to difficult due to rock and ledges. Lots of beautiful scenery. If you plan on using the roadway to get back to camp, your horses should be use to vehicular traffic and buses.

Loved this location for myself and my family. Trails readily accessible from the site including the John Muir trail, or we could easily drive to other landmarks or points of interest. Plus the location is in the most beautiful setting!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
