Site 245 in the Elderberry Loop is the most spacious of all campsites we've stayed at in that loop and neighboring Dogwood Loop. These two loops are newer and have move room between sites than in the older part of the campground farther north. Although all sites throughout the park have water and electric outlets, Elderberry and Dogwood sites also have sewer hookups. Site 245 offers a wooden fence along three sides, adding to space and privacy. The paved back-in driveway can serve RVs and trailers up to 40 feet. Ponderosa State Park is one of our favorite Idaho campgrounds, located on Payette Lake two hours north of Boise.

Ponderosa State Park, on the banks of Payette Lake, is one of Idaho's premier camping spots. It has two campgrounds, the unimaginatively named RV Campground and Peninsula Campground. The RV campground, the newer of the two, has full hookups, water, electricity and sewer. The campsites are more spread out than in Peninsula and there are centralized covered shelters that are available for campers for day use. The lake is a major draw but there are also numerous hiking and biking trails. The resort town of McCall is only three minutes away. Reservations are allowed nine months in advance and these campgrounds are usually booked for the entire summer. Cancelations do come up and people are sometimes able to grab a spot a few days ahead of time. Deer are plentiful and often wander through the campsites.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
