Great starting place for a Pere Marquette River paddle.

Great folks running things. Restrooms were nicely clean and stocked and the Manager and his family were very friendly.

Please, please, please! Trim your the trees! It's very difficult maneuvering around to get into sites and around tighter corners with a camper. Otherwise we love Bowman!

Bowman Bridge is a great campground! Sites are large and private and the paved spurs make it easy to pull a camper or RV in. The campground host was excellent and the bathrooms were always clean and well supplied.

Beautiful campsite. Super clean outhouse. Will be back again.

Loud music (if you want to call it that) at night on all three nights - most nights it seemed it was coming from outside the campground. Made for some sleepless nights. Otherwise, it was fine.

Dewey the camp host was awesome. He greeted us upon our arrival, asked if we had any questions or needed anything. The bathroom was exceptionally clean, as was our campsite and fire pit. We did some kayaking on the Pere Marquette River which we would highly recommend. We had a great weekend.

It was our first time camping in Michigan. The park was clean, and they had our name on the reserved area. Water was available and the sight was clean. My only complaint is that Saturday night, there was some loud music from one of the sights. The sign stated no noise after 10:00. The canoe trip was amazing and we got picked up in our campsite, it was a great experience!

Reserved our campsite in March for June Camping, site 10/11. Upon arrival we found someone already in the campsite. Went to the campground manager and he had little concern and provided us with another campsite. Luckily there were sites available or two families would have had their plans changed. The Campsite host did not check anyone at the campground. He said that "he thought they were us". So beware the campsite that you reserve in advance may not be available upon arrival.

The campground is just as I remember from 1996 with nice updates to the vault toilets, water faucets and campground host, who was very friendly. Two negative issues with the campground. First is that Ticks are terrible. They were all over, my husband and I both had to remove ticks from our shoulders... we killed several more that were crawling around on the picnic table. Also, there are several dead trees on lot 12 that should be removed for visitor safety and to let the younger saplings grow, All in all it's a nice campground, and we will be back.

Great location. A lot of mosquitoes for September. Trails to get to river other than boat launch would be help, or better marked if they already exist.

Super cute campground, the bathrooms were clean, and I loved that the sites were spaced out so you didn’t feel crammed. There was a canoe launch/river in walking distance where we swam all weekend. And it’s close to Ludington as well incase you rather head to a beach.

There were so many mosquitos and biting flies. My daughters eye ended up swelling. It rained all 3 nights so we weren't able to have a fire at all. We were by the road so heard cars all day and night. Not the best place to go if you have a family with small kids as there is not much for them to do. No swimming any where around. We made the best of it but are planning for a different area next year.

Hosts were right on top of everything. Also went beyond to help with some tools that I needed to use. Best pit bathroom I have ever seen.

Nice river access sites. Some really beautiful birds and 13-striped ground squirrels. Be sure to stay an extra day in case it's raining when you want to paddle.

Like they say, not a lot of shade unless you are willing to move your chair as the day goes on. Overall, good. Nice fishing nearby.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
