Great destination, great service! The camp host Dave was incredible.

I like this campground because it is a little out of the way from the main road. It is small in the amount of camp sites. Each site is well planned with a designated tent area, bear box, stove and barbeque stands and a fire pit. Water and vault toilets are well maintained by the camp host. There is hiking or walking from camp with enjoyable views.

Been going there since the 1980's.. beautiful, peaceful, area that never fails to make me feel sad when I leave it.. close to the Blue lakes and tons of hiking and fishing for all ages. You will not be disappointed.

This is a lovely, quiet campground. There is nice, easy access to the river from right across the road from the campground and other fun things to do nearby. The host was great and we hope to come back. This is a littl gem just off the beaten path from all the craziness of the Lake Tahoe basin campgrounds.

The facilities and campsites were very clean. The campsites have been recently refurbished with very nice tent pads, new bear boxes and tables, plus bbqs and a nice fire pit.

Stunningly beautiful area and still green in August thanks to this year's record precipitation. Excellent trout fishing right across the road from camp - we caught our bag limit every day. The campsite is clean and well-kept, although the sites are rather small and. close together. They even have level concrete pads for tents, something I'd never seen before. Camp hosts were helpful and friendly. The double sites look great for a larger group. Hope Valley is so pretty and is one of the best campsites I've ever been to!

Been going to Hope Valley for 20 years. Nice campsites and not close to neighbors like an RV park. We go with a lot of family and friends and it's always a good time. Hosts this season (Jim and Laurie) were great!!

As always the campground was clean and well maintained. The host, Jim, was a welcome and consistent presence. Hope Valley rules.

This critique is of mgmnt. & reservation system, not the actual campground.

Great scenic location with nearby hiking and fishing. Friendly campground hosts from Mesa, AZ. Clean campsites, campfire pits, and toilets. Easy parking for travel trailers in about ten sites in lower loop of campground. RVs not advised for upper loop, as the parking pads are either too short, too sloped, or both. Will come back again.

New camp hosts are big improvement from the earlier this year hosts.
@DianaF3302976 · Camped on Aug 28, 2022 at Campsite #14
The camp was quiet, clean and well cared for. The restrooms were always stocked and pleasant (for pit-style). The hosts were obviously checking things out and watching camp lots and lots of every day. Very happy with the campground.

Lovely campground and site, but beware of the Sierra chipmunks who are always looking for a handout. I left the car door open when packing up, one chip got into my glove compartment by squeezing through an underneath opening and chewed on my favorite silk bag! Otherwise very peaceful place in a beautiful setting.

As a tent camper, what stood out to me is that the campsites had flat, framed pads for the tents. No question about where I was to set it up. The road inside the campground was a low-dust gravel. I guess this is standard practice when the inside the campground road isn't paved. Bathrooms were "vaults" and unlighted, so either bring a light or "do your stuff" "by radar" if you need to between dusk and dawn. If you didn't bring your own food, a restaurant is about 10 miles to the west or at least twice as far to the north. (I go camping in a Civic, so I choose to rely on the local restaurants for refrigerated and cooked meals. If you can live with that, you'll be fine here. The access road is not the local highway, but goes much farther than this campground and passes close by. When a car or light truck (usually) goes by, you hear it.

The smoke in this area is awful and it’s impossible to cancel the reservation

Excellent place to camp. Very less noise in this location. The restrooms were also clean and maintenance was really good.

We loved the campsite. Nice evenly leveld spots for tents and the same for parking on every campsite and the toilets where cleaned daily and didn't smell. The valley is beautiful and there are a lot of hiking possibilities nearby, one starts directly from the campground. The host was absolutly lovely.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
