Such an amazing, secluded get away... in theory... if only the local pontoon boat rental company didn't direct their customers to the campsite beach areas when there are two public day-use areas for exactly that within Trout Bay (on the furtherest most edges of the bay). You'll likely spend every day shooing randos away from your campsite/belongings because, "wHeReS tHE tOILeT?". I know I did, and they all said the same thing - the boat company said Trout Bay was the spot to visit, nothing about campers, nothing about day use areas, so thanks to Superior Boat Rentals for that, they suck. Also, expect random hikers to do the same thing but from the land end. Everybody is apparently real despereate for a toilet out here and unable to read signs/stay out of other peoples campsites. For trying to get away from all the hustle and bustle of a big city, I sure was inudated by a constant and steady supply of strangers all up in my space. Oh and the firewood wasn't restocked per schedule, but honestly that seems minsicule compared to the lack of privacy in what is more or less the middle of no where. So set your expectations accordingly I suppose.

Beautiful view, loved the site. Firewood was provided which was wonderful and close to a bathroom if you’re worried. Lots of sand so be prepared. 10/10 will book again.

Gorgeous spot. Right off the beach! Lovely boardwalk to protect the beautiful pine forest floor so full of diverse lichens, mosses, grasses and wildflowers. Stunning. The tent pads are sandy and quite exposed to sun. Great if you plan to swim in frigid Superior, but maybe too sunny on a hot day! Not a good spot for hammocks. Can't set up outside the fenced area (where all the trees are).

This campsite was everything I dreamed it would be and more. It was the perfect spot to sit by the water, eat smores and stargaze. Bonus: there is a restroom only a few steps away! It is a secluded relaxing campsite with its own beach access and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to camp on Grand Island.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
