Such a wonderful time. The check in staff and workers at store were great. Thank you for making the stay so special

Our church has our annual picnic here and we always look forward to it. Unfortunately this year, there was a car fire on the Cades Cove Loop road and over half of our members were not allowed to go to the campground. The Cades Cove Campground is a great place for our group and all of our members always enjoy the day.

Great site!

The Cades Cove group campsites are so beautiful. Each site is shaded, lots of big trees, plenty of spots for tent setup, with easy access to the central bathroom. I love the pavilion in the group site for large/covered meals.

This is our favorite place to come and we try to come every Spring. This year was great as usual. The campsite is nice and within walking distance to two bathrooms. It is shady. If you have a large group, there is room for numerous tents, it has three or four fire pits with grates, and four different picnic table areas. We viewed wildlife in the campground in the form of turkeys, birds, and hawks. This is biking or walking distance to the loop. Check in and out is very easy. I would recommend.

We ended up with a 350lb bear in our camp. We reported it to the rangers and they trapped it that night. By the next morning the bear was removed and we had no more issues. Rangers reacted quickly and professionally.

Keep your food and water up at all times. Was visited by a bear 3 times in one day going through our campsite. It was awesome listening to the coyote's waking up one morning howling. Weather was perfect!!

Beautiful camp site.

The Group Campgrounds are the most peaceful and secluded spots for camping in the Cove. I have always considered the drive from Townsend into the Cove is like driving up to Heaven-a safe space. And finally, the NPS Staff has always been most helpful and informative. We will be back.

Group site was great, Rangers were helpful, and the park was beautiful.

There is plenty of room for everyone’s tent, tables, and fire and still more room for the kids to run around. The group area is near the creek and the loop has very little traffic so there is plenty of area for the kids to explore. Then you are just a short walk away from the store and ice cream

I have been camping many times at Cades Cove and always have had a great experience. Group sites are very spacious and private. Yes, it is usually busy (especially weekends and holidays) and will sit in traffic some while going around the loop but it’s a beautiful place to be.

We stayed in G1, it is now our favorite group site at Cades Cove. The only thing that would have made our trip better would have been DRY dead-fall wood available! lol All the staff we got to interact with were very nice and helpful. 10/10 will do it again!

This is our favorite place to go camping. We are hoping to make this at least an annual experience.

The group campsite we had was gorgeous and well worth the ~$50 or so we spent per night. We had a lot of privacy and space, 3 fire rings, 7 tables, and plenty of flat, semi-shaded places for tents. It was a very short walk to the restrooms. The nature walk was really pretty, but I wouldn't call it a walk. It was pretty steep in the first half. Lots of tree roots. Not a problem with children, but maybe not comfortable with toddlers. Firewood is $9 and Ice was $4. The gift shop smelled delicious due to the icecream cones on offer and was full of great souvenirs and reasonably priced food items that one might have forgotten to pack. The cashier wore a mesh face mask that was clearly for show, not function. We saw a black bear with 3 cubs walking the edge of our campsite less than 50 yards away. Our trek around Cades Cove was spoiled by waaaaay too many cars. We rode bikes and found ourselves walking them endlessly because there wasn't a paved shoulder to pass on. Nevertheless, we finished the 11 miles of hills in 4 hours (2 adults and 3 kids ages 8, 9, and 12) and were treated to icecream at the end.

Loved the group site! Our Girl Scouts had such a great time! We hope to come back again soon!

Group site 3 with 30 people was perfect. We had plenty of room and felt like the GSMNP was our very own.

This is a great campsite. We experienced turkeys in the campground. It was quiet. We were within walking distance of two bathhouses and the store was a short drive away. Cades Cove is beautiful. This was the perfect location for a group camping trip.
@MeredithP546 · Camped on Apr 8, 2021 at Campsite #G2
The group site was HUGE! Group 2 was a close walk to the bathrooms and dish washing station. There are maybe 4 different fire pits and lots of places for tents and hammocks. We like to hike to Mount Le Conte which is a longer drive from Cades cove (approx 30 min or so) but not unreasonable. Also horse stables are near by. Main complaint was we stood outside the ranger station to check in for an hour and nobody opened the door so we ended up leaving.
@PeteE237 · Camped on Oct 13, 2019 at Campsite #G1
Beautiful campground location with nice hikes nearby. Be advised that the loop road is very slow (10mph or slower) because cars tend to go very slow to take in the views. The group camp sites feel very secluded.
@FrancesT869 · Camped on Sep 22, 2019 at Campsite #G1
It was a Fun experience to share with our work team. Only issue was the traffic.

Our GS Troop stayed overnight here. We had a great first time camping experience...despite the rain. Lol

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
