Great location! Lovely camp hosts. Amenities were clean.

The campground was fairly nice, but the host at the front was troublesome. She kept stopping by everyones camp and making up ridiculous rules. One day she decided that hammocks are not allowed, even though that is not a rule at all. Another time she was obsessed that the grass stayed nice, but no this wasnt nice grass or long wild grass, it was gross dandelions that were growing out of rock beds.

Definitely one of the best camping spots Ive ever stayed. Super nice camp host, ridiculously clean bathrooms, and in an amazing and scenic area with trails super close to a beautiful view (Priest Lake). Ill be a frequent camper here!

The campground is in a beautiful location and we enjoyed our stay here. Pretty level spot for our 26' RV and even had hookups. Campground host was available and helpful. We drove to Mountain Village, parked and took the free Gondola and spent the day in Telluride.

Seven miles just outside Telluride CO. Making it a great location for food and walking the downtown area. Close to multiple Hiking trail heads. The campground was quiet, campers well nicely spaced, and the view was outstanding.

Mike and Lilly are the best hosts of any of the many campgrounds we have visited over the year. They are friendly and the bathrooms are so clean every time. We love to visit with them in our shady and large campsite. Luke is new this year and has proven to be also one of the best.

It was early season and the water was not turned on. We thought that might be the case so we came prepared. It would be helpful for campers with reservations to be notified of the water situation. There few alternatives available locally.

Matterhorn is a well-managed campground, an easy drive from Telluride. We stayed 3 nights mid Sept 2023 just as the snow had started to fall at 13.000 ft elevation. Our site was spacious and could accommodate well our 19AS it offered 30Amp, water and sewer hookup. Our favorite hike Hope Lake an easy 6 miles out and back with 1500 ft elevation game.Anna the host is great to deal with and help us to adjust at arrivalWe will be back.

Great campground with friendly hosts.

Loved this campground and campsite! This is a small, quiet campground with well-spaced sites. The tent pad for site 11 is tucked fully back in the aspens, so it felt very private even though it was closer to the pit toilets than I'd normally choose.

Loved this site. Hot shower, good people and lovely location. Only 7 miles to the free gondola, at the Village, for a visit to the town of Telluride. Hiking, shopping, restaurants all in a wonderful environment.

This is a beautiful campground with the sound of water everywhere. There are two hosts and they just hustle and they are super vigilant in keeping people who don't follow the golden rule in line. They are extremely patient, even more so considering that people in this stretch of the highway seem to think they are an information booth for priest lake and lizard head rather than doing their research before they head out. They were very nice to my dog Mason!

Always enjoy this campground. Great hosts! Great location.

The bugs were awful we couldn't get out of the camper the entire time. The camp host was rude as well.

We love Matterhorn. Stayed in site 24, a full hook up site. Anna and Jocelyn really take care of the facilities. Starlink coverage was excellent.
@HeatherG779153 · Camped on Jul 30, 2023 at Campsite #10
The campsite was nice and the host was very helpful. However, the campsite was surrounded by wildflowers which attracted a huge number of flies. This made it difficult to sit at our picnic table and enjoy being outdoors.
@CynthiaL123583 · Camped on Jul 12, 2023 at Campsite #20
What a beautiful campground in a stunning part of Colorado. Its location is handy for a trip into Telluride for live music, dining and groceries, and a drive/hike to Bridal Veil Falls, or down to Trout Lake to kayak, or to explore Ophir Pass and the many breathtaking hikes nearby. Even close enough for a day trip down to Hovenweep Natrional Monument taking into the Senic byway. While the flies were a bit outrageous this year due to much moisture, the campground is well cared for.

This is a fantastic little campground. Nice facilities, great host, etc. We try to stay there each time we travel to Telluride. Only complaint is the difficulty to book a spot due to the popularity. No fault of the campground though.
@MargaretS19398 · Camped on Jul 4, 2023 at Campsite #19
We really liked Matterhorn location and beautiful vistas. We stayed 2 nights in July. Well maintained, nice bathrooms with flush toilets. Hiking trail that leads to FS road where you can hike to two lakes from the campground. We drove to good fly fishing on the Delores River and into Telluride. The only downside to our visit was an incessantly barking dog two sites over and the camp host's dog who was off leash and tried to bite our dog that was on leash. Guess the rules didn't apply to her?
@DonatoD90B68F2 · Camped on Jun 29, 2023 at Campsite #15
Site 15 is beautiful surrounded by Aspens. It's near to the restroom which is clean. The hot shower is working which is a big, big bonus. The camp is near to Trout Lake and a driving distance to Telluride. Will be back definitely and preferably during fall season where foliage will be awesome.
@MaryO8691436 · Camped on Jun 25, 2023 at Campsite #9
Excellent hosts. Jocelyn and the others (forgot their names) very helpful. Clean restrooms.

The campsite we reserved was completely unusable for tents. The showers were also ice cold.

We track all the sites so you don't have to.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
