The group site is very spacious and well thought out planned. It is also very convenience as it is within walking distance to Lake McDonald, Visitor Center and the village. Our group enjoyed kayaking and swimming at lake McDonald, shopping at the village market. We loved the performance at the Ranger program. Being close to the visitor center is a big plus to get in line early for the shuttles.

Friendly staff, large site, close proximity to drinking water and flush toilets. No bear storage bin dedicated to site, must use shared bin by bathrooms.

The campground was fine but way too many people! If I go again I will look for camping on the East side of Glacier. Just as pretty and far less people!

We loved our group camp site with four tent platforms, 3 picnic tables and plenty of room for our biking group. It was a 5-8 minute walk to a beautiful sunset on lake McDonald

Campground was clean and accessible for large 5th wheels. Location is prime for getting to most of the park with little travel time.Camp host were friendly. HOWEVER park LEO Ranger was confrontational. Provided false information that I was violating campground rules, when asked to verify that information he changed his statement to I'm violating fire code and informed me that if an evacuation was necessary they would de prioritize my evacuation over others.

I Love this place. It is such an amazing mix of remoteness and access to services at the same time. The is so much to do to keep the whole family happy. We ;ove the paved path to West Glacier. The lake is clear and clean. Hiking, biking. swimming, ice cream. This place has it all. 10 out of 10

The camp host, volunteer and rangers at Apgar were extremely difficult and made for a disappointing week of camping. They would patrol each campsite everyday when we were gone and then, with us, ticketed us for multiple things EVERY DAY, instead of just going through things one time at the beginning when we set up camp. They enter your site when you are gone, open up coolers, tents etc.-(we witnessed this with the campsite across from us), confiscate items and leave yellow warning tickets or fine you. One of the biggest disappointments was that they continued to lie and skirt any questions specifically when asked on Tuesday evening of our stay if the Going to the Sun Road was opening on Wednesday as was being discussed everywhere we went. They looked at each other and hesitated saying they "couldn't say for sure", "weren't able to confirm", the info was "top secret". This group lost all of our respect and had no integrity in the way they managed things-we will not come back to Apgar because of the micromanaging and belittling they showed in every dealing with us. Glacier is beautiful but your government employees are out of control!

The worst stay ever! We booked a group campsite for 9 people. But apparently, if your friends get seriously sick, or even die, the rangers don’t care. If you don’t have 9 people, they can REMOVE you from YOUR PAID spot or simply let a random person stay with you. They are happier if you don’t show up at all, than have less people. The ranger didn’t like that our friends didn’t show up due to COVID with complications and that there were only 4 people instead of 9, so she just let a random person (he was super weird) set up his tent in our spot.

Friendly hosts and the site is inside the park. Shops , restaurant and visitors center is a short drive. The bathroom is pretty old and shower facilities is limited and a bit dirty. It has free hot water though.

We rented a group site E8 for our large group. The campground is beautiful with flushing toilets and sinks in the bathrooms. Loop A has a shower house with 3 showers. The vegetation is lovely and peaceful. We loved the camp host Don. He was very helpful and would ride around on his bike checking up on everyone. We had barely any Verizon cell service and it was a little better with ATT, but not enough to really use the internet. The visitor center is a nice walk down a wooded path. Apgar Village is adorable and we also rented some cabins for those in our group who didn't want to camp. We always do large family camping trips in the summer to a National Park. I think this was my favorite one so far! RV's with slides have to be careful because the roads are narrow and they have to park right off it in the group sites. I think they should also build more shower houses because there was usually a line with such a large campground sharing 3 showers.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
