The site was great, but the camp hosts women play favorites, we changed sites while there, we had to be out of ours by 1.00, but the site we were moving into, that gentleman did not have to be out of his, so we had to wait, the camp host women both just said oh well, makes you wonder whats going on behind the scenes.

A beautiful site! Gorgeous views of the water and a big tent site. It's pretty windy due to the exposure from the lake. A short walk down some stairs to the site, plenty of parking, and relatively separated from other sites. Old Federal is my favorite campground!

Good views of the lake, sites aren't too stacked on top of each other.

The location of this park is great if you like to camp on lakeside campsitesas most every site is lakeside. The staff is extremely friendly and we personally enjoy the fact that the rules are highly enforced. Its a peaceful campground too. If youve never been to the park, you should just be aware that some of the sites are very short and you will not be allowed to park vehicles or boat trailers on any of the non-paved areas. Thats a good thing for most in that it keeps rule breakers from smothering their campsites with stray vehicles and toys. There are, however, several parking spaces in other areas of the campground where a camper can park the excess vehicles as needed. You just cant occupy any of the bare ground with such.We also like the dump facilities at the park. The dump site is always clean and the hoses/connectors are quite useable. My only suggestion there would be that the park might look into adding another dump site since theres currently just one and it often gets backed up in the mornings as folks try to leave.The bath house facilities are dated and in need of some new fixtures and TLC. But theyre still clean and useable. The location of the campground is good. Its far enough away from civilization that it remains quiet, but close enough to get almost anything you need. That said, Old Federal has been one of our favorite campgrounds for years. However, we noticed during our last two stays this year that the grounds are in EXTREMELY bad condition. I realize weve had some major storms blow through this year, but thats no excuse for not picking up the downed tree debris or letting the grass get so high (knee high in several areas).

This is the most beautiful park on the lake and the hosts are the friendliest and the most willing to work with you!

We were disappointed to see our favorite park with so many trees down from a storm 6 weeks before. The grounds are not maintained as nicely as before.

This was once a very nice campground but it has really declined over the last few years. The areas surrounding the campsites are poorly maintained with overgrown grass and weeds. Dead and fallen trees are all around the property. Bath houses are becoming dilapidated.

The grass needs to be cut when they did mow it was only two strips nothing around the camper A lot of trees were down that needed to be cut up camp ground has a lot of potential

We love Old Federal! Always very clean and quiet. Publix, Walmart and Sams Club are all nearby.

I was disappointed with all the fallen trees just left on the ground and hanging in trees plus the uncut grass. Ive been going to Old Federal for years and its appalling on how run down it is.

Have never seen park look so bad. Grounds are not maintained, in some areas grass and weeds were 4 ft tall. Bathrooms not cleaned for days.

This is probably our 10th stay at Old Federal. We live nearby and can make it up there after a full day of work Friday before the gates close, so we have been there a number of times over the years. I think the COE does an excellent job of managing the Lanier campgrounds, but it's hard to overlook how government cuts have hit these Federal campgrounds. it's discouraging to see at least 3 sites out of operation and the volunteers that are working are frustrated at what they are being asked to do. We had campers fly a drone over our site and linger there, then fly over a pontoon on the water and surveil them from overhead for a few minutes. A patrolling sheriff happened to drive by the operator, but either didn't see the controller or chose not to deal with it. Prima donna or not, I miss having the grass trimmed around the sites and fallen trees addressed in a timely manner. That all said, I think the COE does an excellent job managing what they have to work with. But I worry that the sites won't be around for our kids and that is really heartbreaking.

Oh my gosh, I love my Betty Lou at the front desk at Old Federal! She provided the best customer service, and the greatest experience, gave me and my kid a bunch of cool washable tattoos that we had tons of fun with! Talk about a cool campground, has the best views of any campground on the lake! WE LOVE YOUUUUU BETTTYYYYY LOUUUUU!!!!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
