We had a good time despite rain off and on. The creek was very low because of drought, but the kids had a great time doing catch and release of crawdads. The campground is a good family space since there is a huge field for children to run free without fear of traffic or other campers and their dogs. The fire ring, composting toilet, and picnic tables were in good shape and the campsite was mowed and clean. The whip poor wills and katydids sang us to sleep..

This is a great spot for a group gathering. It abuts a creek and has a very large fire ring, lots of parking, pit toilets, and two picnic tables. For large groups, you will need to bring additional chairs and tables. Based on our experience, children and teenagers love playing in the field and the creek. Our group of 55 was comfortably accommodated for a fantastic evening event.

The site is right off the road so you are clearly visible to every car that passes. The gate is small so large campers wont fit. There is a restroom but no water, so be sure to pack in what you need.

The site is mantained extremely well. Grass mowed and bathrooms clean. Great site for kids to play in the creek. Plenty of room and awesome firepit.

We were only 7 people, but it was nice to have a large space all to ourselves. I think the site said no working bathrooms, so we were pleasantly surprised to find them open, clean, and stocked with TP :) The large fire pit is great, and the kids had a great time venturing into the woods to find plenty of firewood on the ground. The creek behind the field is lovely, and we all found spots for our hammocks down there. The site was conveniently located between two hikes that we did - Cascade Falls and McKafee's Knob. It was also just a short drive to Blacksburg, where we spent a day hanging out on Virginia Tech's campus. Also an easy place to stock up on ice, groceries, etc.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
