Excellent! The camphosts are very friendly and helpful. The campground is small, quiet, and well maintained. This is our favorite place to unwind, relax, and watch the water. Some may consider it a con that there is nothing to do but relax, but to us, its one step away from Heaven.

Very nice campground. Only 9 campsites and of course the tent sites. Security at nights is non existence. Traffic all hours of the night heading back to the tent campers. People all hours of the day speeding around the campground. There needs to be a secure locked gate and stop the traffic just meandering thru. We camp here for peace and quiet not to see or hear heavy traffic. NUFF SAID

The St Lucie South campground was awesome!! It was clean, quiet and the river is beautiful to just sit and enjoy. Watching the boats go through the lock was cool too. If the ocean is your thing, its only a handful of miles away. My only complaint is that I didnt see an alligator close up. Which in reality is a good thing.

Nice camp. Site was right on the water. Had electrical hook-up, fire ring and covered picnic table .

A wonderful campground right next to the canal. Our site (#8) had a good view. I liked this campground is small (only 9 RV sites and a few tent sites) and as it's a Corps of Engineers site, I KNEW it would be well maintained and in good repair. We used both the grill and fire ring, and the covered picnic table was appreciated when a passing rainstorm visited us. Water pressure was good, electricity was stable, and the concrete pad was perfectly level. We were there for some Spring Training baseball in west palm (30 minutes away) but were also treated to some wonderful Florida beaches nearby, as well as the features of downtown Stuart. I am already starting to make plans for returning next year!

Great hidden treasure! Very small campground, well kept up with wonderful camp hosts. Enjoyed learning about the lock while we were there. We will be back!

I got to the dock. NO INFORMATION WAS PROVIDED TO INDICATE THAT THIS SLIP HAS ROCKS LESS THAN 2 FEET below the surface of the water the last 4 or so feet of the slip. I had my engines as high as the jack plate goes as I always do when going into somewhere new to me. I draw less than 2 feet with the engines up like I had them. When I saw the rocky back end of the slip, I got my boat hook out and stuck it down in and could feel nothing but rocks. I carefully motored out and still nicked a rock. Fortunately no damage was done to my props or engines. You need to clearly state on the information for these slips that you CANNOT back in and also have signage stating the same thing. With the short finger pier and the fact getting off my boat at the front is not safe, we left and went to a marina.

Nice smaller campground

We love this small campground on the canal. There is a walking trail at the end of the RV/Tent area, you can watch the boats go by, and see them go through the locks. This time, the walkway across the lock gate wasn't available, but there's a nice nature trail on the other side. Don't miss the Corps of Engineers visitors center down at the far end of the lock area!

Had boat slip for 12 days again. We really like this place and hope to continue to visit yearly again in the winter. Staff helpful and friendly.

I heard about the COE campgrounds by fluke on YouTube. This was a good location, near I95 and on our trip down to Ft. Lauderdale. I wish that the COE website was more intuitive and easier to navigate as Im not familiar with US geography. Even a paper brochure at the campground showing all of the locations would be very helpful.

Not super fancy high end but nice facilities on Okeechobee waterway.

Location was very good, we had a site on the waterfront. Weve been to many COEs and theyre all beautifully maintained, unfortunately St Lucie south was disappointing. Our site was very weedy and the fencing needed some maintenance. Maybe theyre just short handed here, too bad since the location is nice.

Nice place to camp. Shower facilities are terrible. Shower handle ready to fall off. Not clean at all. They need a new shower facility....period. The money this country spends on ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS who are criminal to begin with, they could put sewer at every site and build a new Shower house. NUFF SAID

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
