Having a site on the water is a recipe for people to walk through your site. There needs to be signs apparently, telling people to not walk through reserved sites. People reserve 6 months in advance only to have really selfish people decide to walk onto your site right by your tent/RV (talking loudly, with screaming kids) in order to get to the water more quickly... and then argue with you about it. Unreal. GO TO THE DAY USE AREA! Maybe USPF should implement a quiz before allowing people to camp - Question 1: If you haven't reserved a good site, do you get to (A) walk through the site whenever you want? or (B) realize that the site is occupied and paid for by someone else? Question 2: If you bring your children, do you (A) let them run anywhere they want? or (B) keep an eye on them so they don't go where they aren't suppose to? Question 3: When you are at your own home, would you like someone to (A) walk right in your house and scream? or (B) be a good neighbor and respect the home you have worked hard for?Bathrooms were as clean as they can get, but by the end of the season the flies are crazy. If we leave the doors open and the seats down, the flies are manageable. Someone left the doors closed and yellow jackets were in 2 bathrooms. The upgraded trail and bridge are beautiful (toward the Angel Creek Day Use Area). And the short trail from the CG toward the dam with the Nature Signs is wonderful. Highly recommend to read the signs and walk the trail to the overlook at least once. Really interesting facts.Camp hosts are great. Mid-week seems to bring the thoughtful veteran campers, and weekends are less than ideal in terms of quiet and respectful neighbors.

This was our first visit and I can't believe I didn't know about this beautiful campground! The property was clean and well maintained by the camp hosts who were friendly and also very knowledgeable about the history of the area. Every day the hosts were working, trimming bushes even just picking up the smallest piece of trash (yes, other guests leave trash lying around an it's so sad). Much of what I noticed was the tiny plastic wrapper that are found on the straws attached to juice packets and things like that. The restrooms were as clean as possible for being outhouses. The property was peaceful and the walking path around the lake was a perfect walk even for our friends with bad knees. The lake was pefect for paddle boards, kyaks, swimming and fishing. They also had fire rings, and firewood for sale at the camp host site! No bears during our visit, just beauty and a peaceful visit.

We camped in site #40 Mon-Thursday. It is not Riverfront like the site details state. Also, for future campers looking for a shaded site, this one is not it. There are many other sites more shaded. We only saw the camp hosts on our last day, Thursday. Gerle Creek gets four stars because it is a beautiful place to camp. The sites are spread out and there is plenty of places to hike.

Weve loved staying in Gerle Creek in the past, and this year did not disappoint. We had a lakefront site with a path to the water. The campground posts were wonderful. And the crowd in the campground were respectful for the most part! Lots of kids, riding bikes and scooters. And many people enjoying fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding! Cant wait to come back again!

Beautiful campground. Sites have shade and pretty private. Quiet at reservoir. Clean bathrooms. Neighbors had loud music, but when we told the hosts, they immediately told them to turn it down. Been camping there for 14 years!

Ive been camping at Gerle creek yearly since 1977. I love the minor upgrades over the years. The hosts that are stationed at the camp ground are always amazing and great people.

Best camp hosts! They are friendly and do an amazing job keeping the bathrooms clean. We have camped 2 other places and the camp host were just rude.

Loved the absolutely beautiful hiking trails around the reservoir area just wish they were longer! We brought our bikes and hauled them to nearby campsites that had bike trails and that was wonderful. The campsite was beautiful and had lots of shade. Very nice place!

I've been camping here since the '70s (nearly 50 yrs). It's a very beautiful campground. When I can, grab a site along the water but I don't think there's a bad site here. Site #50 was great. I can't say enough about the camp hosts. The campground was well kept and the hosts couldn't have been nicer. I'll be back in a couple of weeks. This is my happy place!

Great campground that accommodated our 35ft motorhome, granddaughter and her friend really enjoyed the lake.

This is a wonderful campground! Clean and pretty quiet during the week. I was a little let down when I saw trailers and rvs in sites listed as tent only. #31 and 33 are water front and 33 had a full size rv, 31 had a small trailer. This was the case in several other sites throughout the campground. The rvs and trailers fit fine. Space #38 was a double. Good size, though not a ton of shade mid-day. Great for kayaking! Bring mosquito spray. We’ll definitely be back.

Love this campground. Nice and small/quiet compared to others. Awesome small lake for non powered craft.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
