Whispering Pines Campground is a lovely setting. The road in could use some serious maintenance. 4 mph max speed due to washboard conditions. The road is really bad!! The camp loop needs to have some of the wood pylons removed so vehicles can make it around. Some of t h e camp sites aren't acceptable for bigger rigs due to the wooden pylons. This area could use some more planned and developed trails. The trail loops are too long for most equestrians on a day ride. We enjoyed the riding, we didn't experience any bugs while there, which was very pleasant.

We've always loved this place. However, we've learned not to depend on many services. For example, there were quite a few offsite campers using the outhouse and the toilet paper disappeared and was not replaced by either the contractor or the Forest Service. Both were there. And the reservation signs were not kept up to date. This sort of thing has been happening for the last few years.

The camp host was amazing, very welcoming and helpful. The site is best set up for trailers that have left side access to living quarters. Other than that very clean horse area and beautiful trails to ride!

Beautiful site! Loved it. Only downside was all the people coming into the camp to use it as a day use area. There was a constant stream of people using the one bathroom (And not leaving it clean or with toilet paper). It made me feel a bit uncomfortable about the safety of all our stuff and horses. Maybe put a toilet somewhere people can use it without coming into the horse camp? There is obviously a need for one.

It was great! The camp is very beautiful and very peaceful. The campground host who actually stays down at Cold Springs CG made daily trips up to check on the restrooms and see how the campers were doing. He was super friendly and very helpful!

Weather was perfect. Neighbors were mostly all horse people and were friendly. Contrary to two years ago when the campground was overtaken with motorcycles and atvs, this year was a wonderful experience.

Great spot. Limited number of guests makes for a quiet getaway. Lots of roads or trails to ride on. Clean vault toilets.

No toilet paper in the bathroom on multiple days. A member of our group kept supplying it. Otherwise good trip with only horse campers in the campgrounds

Always a good time. Mosquitos still out in late July, bring bug spray!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
