We always love coming to Bull Bend

Beautiful location. The access road is in poor shape. Takes about 20 minutes to drive, from the highway, if you are towing a trailer.

This place is heavenly. Went on weekday in September and we were the only ones there!

Bull Bend CG is such a gem- its small, quiet and so much fun with the ability to river float right around the campground. Site 6 was perfect- right on the water, our own little section of beach/riverfront. Only hope we will make it back again!

This is a wonderful campground. It's quiet and the camp spaces are large. The bathroom clean with lots of toilet paper, garbage pick up and glass and can recycling. The loop to float is lovely and peaceful. Can't wait to go back. There were mosquitos in the evening and morning, but not too bad.

Fun but lots and lots of mosquitoes!!!!

Fishing was awful. Crazy weather (lightning rain), which I do understand is not the campgrounds fault, rather the location. Only (1) pit toilet. Although, toilet was maintained very well, there was just one. No potable water. Road to get to campground is rough, dusting and narrow. Drunkards constantly floating by on the River. I would surely encourage people to seek a different location to spend their precious time.

Great campground, rough narrow road driving in but no big deal if you take it slow. Be sure not to follow Google directions or you will end up at a forest service gate. Reserved online, was overcharged and there was no reserved sign on my site upon arrival. Luckily my site was still available. Great campground.

No garbage service, cans were overflowing. Also, switched campsites and paid cash for the new site. Campground host was going to refund our money for site 10 and note this change in campground records, but he never returned with the refund. I have now applied for a refund on site # 11. Otherwise, it is beautiful campground. May return next year.

Beautiful setting on the Deschutes River. Large, spacious camp sites. With Only 12 sites and a bumpy gravel road to get there, helps prevent overcrowding
@JustinS6067631 · Camped on Aug 5, 2022 at Campsite #2
Small campground. Bumpy dirt roads are worth the drive. Sites are very close together. Views of the water are great at most sites as well. Can float a little 0.5 mile loop on repeat. Water calm enough for SUP easily with dogs. Some sites not completely drive through. Only 1 vault toilet. No running water or fresh water available so be prepared and bring your own. Overall, nice little spot.

Always my favorite place!

The campground was filled with rvs and trailers running generators day and night. And flying drones. It was a nightmare. Why do people bring all these giant noisy machines to a primitive campground where people are trying to get away from the noise and smell of the city? Wisconsin bans generators in all of their state parks. Can't we at least ban generators in primitive campgrounds to give other campers a bit of peace?

Camping here is such a treat! I left four stars because our campsite, #2 didn't have a fire pit which is listed as an amenity. The metal grate was missing and it was a huge bummer. All the other sites had one from what we could tell. Aside from that the river access it top notch and floating around the campground was super relaxing. It's a beautiful location. Google maps took us to the wrong spot. We had to get back onto the paved road and go another mile or so further till we saw a sign for Bull Bend.

Bull Bend Campground has lovely large campsites with lots of privacy...the road getting to the campground is a bit sketchy and I wouldn't bring a trailer. The one drawback of this campground is that there is no fresh water source with exception of the river.

It was a quiet place , the spot was big and clean, when I came it was a family occupying it with no reservation so I have to wait for their going whit all their stuff... But I loved it! The river it's great and the place is beautiful!

I arrived a few minutes before check-in the site was empty it was a very rainy day well I couldn’t raise the roof on my A-frame camper seems the motor was full of water this has nothing to do with the campground itself this is between me and the seller the campground is a beautiful campground right on the Deschutes I would not hesitate refer this to anyone.

Smoke and a fire dampened the experience

This is a beautiful little campground on the Deschutes River near La Pine. It even has great cell coverage. Bring your own water.

After coming here for 25 years - we discovered crawdads for the first time. Always beautiful and perfect for floating. We plan to keep coming for the next 25 years.

When I was looking for a camping site a few months prior, it stated that all the sites were taken so we went with campsite #2. The campsite was fine, but there were multiple people coming in and out looking for sites when all of them were reserved, yet no one showed up to over half the sites that were supposed to be reserved. When discussed with the campsite manager, they shrugged it off and didn't really say anything about it. This deterred a lot of people away, on an already challenging place to go to, and meant that cars were coming and out and turning away all day, each day. Also, the bathroom was disgusting and was covered in flies, making it impossible and unbearable to use. I also highly recommend not allowing generators and limiting RV use. The parking for each spot does not accommodate large RV's which made it almost impossible to go around the turnaround, and there were people who were using generators literally all day long-this definitely killed the mood of camping in what could have been such a beautiful experience, given the location.

This is such a hidden gem off the Dechutes River - perfect for kayaking, floating, or stand up paddle boarding. The float around the entire campsite takes only about 20 minutes, but so peaceful and relaxing. Its very easy to put in, go around the bend, exit the river, cross the small road to the other side and do it all over again. A couple sites have huge pull through driveway, big enough for almost two trailers, while others are on the smaller side. We took our 27 ft travel trailer and had room for three more cars behind it if we wanted. Yes the road going in is all dirt forest road, but we just went slow and had no problems. Like other reviewers, we too noticed that all the sites were booked for the entire week, but 3-4 sites were a no show. Super frustrating when you have to plan your camping trip here 6 months in advance. I don't understand why people can't just cancel their reservations and give other people a chance to enjoy this campground. Verizon service coverage is excellent, we were even able to work remote/use Zoom at times using our hot spots with no issues.

We loved this campground. We will definitely be coming back. T-Mobile gets zero service
@ZacharyB713 · Camped on May 31, 2021 at Campsite #5
It was a great place to get away from it all, but still not be very far from Central Oregon’s largest cities. The campsites are dusty and if we didn’t have hot weather would have been tough for kids as the water was a great reprieve from heat and dust. There are lots of trails for mountain biking that we rode. The kids could kayak the river around the bend and take out on the other side and with a short walk could do it again.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
