The camp host greeter at the booth arriving at the site was very welcoming and very informative which was much appreciated. Our campsite was clean and we left it the same way. The restrooms were a little gross ... The fire pit was great. This was our first time camping here and probably won't be the last.

This was my first time taking my kids camping and it was the best experience possible. The campsite was the closest to the lake and the highest of 3 in the location. Check in was simple and they checked in on us shortly afterwards. Really great people. I will definitely be back and recommend this to anyone.

Please consider having hours for generator use in addition to the quiet hours of 10 pm - 6 am. I suggest generator hours 7:00am-9:00am and 4:00pm-6:00pm.Also, please consider making one of the RV spots accessible, with the parking area for the RV level side-to-side and asphalted up to picnic table for wheelchair and/or walker. I suggest #41.

We really enjoyed the quiet & seclusion of site 41. That site could be more level, though.

We had a perfect camping spot!! The camp host was nice enough to change our reservation to a spot adjacent to our initial reservation. We had a wonderful time.

The campground hosts do a great job! A non-weekend in early September at Rose Canyon was a great break from the city!

The campsite was clear and ready for us to setup camp when we got there. All of the people who work here are very nice and friendly. They keep the toilets stocked with toilet paper and do their best to keep it clean (as clean as a park toilet possibly can be). There were other campsites within close proximity to us but we still felt as though we had privacy and no one bothered us. There are skunks so be careful with your pups.

Beautiful location. Note that the hike in for Barnum 04 goes up the wash to the left of site 03, along a short trail, and then rejoins a wash to arrive at the campsite. It is a rocky, rooty hike in and hard to find in the dark. If you are back and forth from the parking lot you will need to pass through/by site 03 every time (no problem for us as our friends were on site 03). A wagon or wheeled cooler for your stuff won't work...you have to carry it. Very good location to set up a large tent, however and beautiful, quite, private area. Water pump was broken during our reservation, but there was a pump across the road at the group site. This site is farthest from the lake but also the most woodsy and removed area on this campground which we liked.

A wonderful experience my first time out dry camping in my camping van. The temp was 21 degrees cooler from home. I stayed in the Red Tail Loop, space #48. It is a fantastic spot. I shared this loop with 2 couples. We all had our privacy, but I enjoyed having someone close. It was very peaceful, quiet, relaxing. It was so dark, and quiet, I slept without earplugs for the first time since 1971. I used the Bear Food Box to store my dirty dishes from cooking and grilling. The loop has a Pit Toilet. I had a picnic table, bench, and extra area to relax. I loved that I could reserve my spot, so when I arrived, it was all ready for me to pull in, and start my fun. I walked to the lake too.

Campsite was very clean. Werent too many visitors around us, so it was quiet at our site. Lovely spot.

We chose our site based on the online map. Once we arrived, we noticed the online map did not match actual campsites. Online there were only two on our side of the road but in actuality there were five. You have to park in an assigned spot and carry everything a short distance to your site which was a bit different than we had experienced. There was a semi steady stream of cars which was strange for a Tuesday through Thursday. One big white loud diesel truck passed about every hour which was very annoying- we were camping to get away from noise! One can hear everything going on in all campsites- snoring, coughing, talking. Site was well maintained, pit toilets were clean but I doubt we will return here because of the noise and how close the spaces are to one another.

A vendor :stopped me at the outhouse about 100 yards from my campsite and enforced the "One Way" traffic direction. This caused me to drive about 1/2 mile in the opposite direction. This rutted dirt road does not need to be "One Way". I was also put off by the Campsite Host who prohibited me from cutting dead wood for my campfire. He allowed me only to gather pieces 2 ft. long or shorter. He told me they sold bundles for $8. This sounds like a grift. Otherwise, my stay was delightful. The outhouses were always clean and supplied, I used a great deal of the potable water that is plentiful. I regretted I could not buy ice at the store on site because it only operates on weekends.

I reserved Rose Canyon #50 in August 2024 to escape the heat with my dog. It was a spacious site with plenty of room to park my minivan camper and set of the text that attaches to the back end. The site was flat, but I didn't realize that the place for the van was also the loop road. There was enough room for people to drive past my rig. The sites were clean and the campground hosts were very friendly. Great space!

We had a great time. The group picnic area was perfect for my daughter's baby shower. The staff were super friendly and nice. Definitely would do this again.

We absolutely loved this space for our church event. It was equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed hiking, doing some games, engaging around the fire pit, and using the shaded pavilion. The water pump was leaking, but we had a couple of men who could navigate that for us. It was an excellent reprieve from the heat of Tucson.

This site fits a large 3 room tent and has plenty room. The other sites are good distance away and there's some shade on the site most of the day. The bathroom wasn't always the cleanest but I've seen worse. If you need drinking water, you have to walk to the other bathroom located across the road. If you need ice, the shop at the lake normally isn't open so you have to drive up to the general shop in Summerhaven. Our first night there was a lot of other loud campers in the sites below us that stayed up until midnight but our second night was nice and quiet.

So great to escape the valley heat and surprisingly quiet for the Independence weekend. Only one decent rainfall to darken our stay but it did manage to cool things down quite a bit. Not much activity in the lake, but that wasn't our primary reason to visit this beautiful campground.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
