It was a great experience, during the month of March it gets nice and cold. No bugs

Very clean and well maintained campground. The sites each had a firepit, picnic table, and a grill. Super nice hikes nearby!

it is simple and a good amount of space. I like it has no hook up so there is not much of big RV. restroom is clean and well-maintain. there is no shower hopefully there will be one later

Nice and quiet campground, not a lot of other campers even on a Saturday night. Only things to note was this campsite was right up against the neighboring farm and smelled as such. Also no real grill for the camp fire, so bring a camping stove or charcoal to be able to cook

Beautiful area. Our sites were large and clean, with lots of shade. The freshwater spigots were standard threaded hose bibs, so we could fill our holding tank. We'll be back!

Nice campground that is easily accessible.

Oak Grove was quiet, not too busy in January and is dog friendly. I enjoyed taking the oak grove trail which is just across the street, it is a beautiful and also a steep hike. Totally worth it, even though I only made it half way!I stayed in spot 061, it was a very easy walk to to the hiking trails and easy to drive out as it is right near the exit. Not every camp site is made equally, some were very well hidden and others are right along the driving path. I may try for different camp spots for the privacy and less chance of my dog being close to the road when people are driving out.Overall, great area, nice host and generally calm area. The bathrooms were clean and there were plenty, water access was available and at multiple areas, no firewood available during this time, which was fine as I brought my own. It was very nice how very site had its own fire pit, grill and picnic table.Surrounding brush contains cactus and spikey plants, watch out for this with your dogs and kids. I got pricked while setting up my tent, but it was fine after that. Coyotes are prevalent in this area, keep your small pets close and keep them close, leashed and in sight.

The site was clean, well maintained, and we weren't right next to our next-door neighbours. The facilities are basic but clean and functional. The site is close to some great hiking. What more could we ask for?

Quite and cozy. Toilets were clean too!

I always enjoy this campground. Great native plants and critters to observe. This time I even got a nice welcome from the camp host and his dog. They were working right by my favorite site.

I really enjoyed the layout of spot. There was only one way in and one way out. It was surrounded by vegetation on all sides which gave us the feeling of security and privacy. The spot is a little small so large tents is not recommended. Ive booked at this campground 3 times and I can say this was a more enjoyable spot than others. The only problem with the campground is that it is really dry and dusty so bring wipes. This site is tucked away between two other sites if we had neighbors they wouldve been extremely close. Fortunately we didnt have neighbors so the experience was extremely peaceful. For those with small dogs and children be aware that packs of coyote frequent the area. Asleep in my tent I was awoke to a pack of howling coyotes that were a lot closer than I was comfortable with. But overall I rate this campsite very highly for the type of campground it is. Would rebook.

There is nothing wrong with the campsite I gave it three stars because of how open it is. There is plenty of space in this spot can fit many and large tents. It was very close to the road and there wasnt much vegetation for privacy. Luckily we didnt have any neighbors during this trip but if well did we wouldnt have had any privacy. There is limited shading at this spot so bring canopys. This area is very dusty, cars, walking and dogs all kicked up dust. Overall there is nothing wrong with this site other than feeling exposed.

Campground is good. We had a good time. There was a noisy group who kept talking and laughing till about 5am. Heard another neighbor ask them to quiet down a few times, but they didn't really listen. Host not to be seen. We were there for two nights and never saw the host. Bathroom closest to us was not clean, but found good ones a little farther.
@GabrielaC40733 · Camped on Nov 1, 2024 at Campsite #15
It was overall a fun experience aside from being so close to a main road, we were on campsite 14 and it was pretty close to the restroom, it was kept clean and it felt safe. We did get some coyote visitors but other than that it was fun, would definitely go again.

I took my 11 year old daughter van camping for the first time. The good: beautiful clear skies for amazing stargazing, other friendly campers, plenty bathroom/toilets that were clean and well stocked, helpful camp host, and an easy campsite to navigate. The bad: red ants at almost all sites, and we had a loud group of campers across the way from us. Fortunately we found a site that didn't have ants that we were able to move to, and the loud campers turned off music and toned down their noise around 8pm. We will definitely be back to Oak Grove for kore stargazing or to watch a full moon rise.

Site 46 is easily the worst campsite on the grounds. Dont believe the good reviews. There are no trees and no shade. Its fenced off at the back so you cant go anywhere. Its downwind from the bathroom so you regularly smell everyones sh*t. I would never camp here again.
@CindyG2775357 · Camped on Oct 25, 2024 at Campsite #41
All campgrounds deserve all of the stars and this one does too. It's the other campers that need to be rated. Zero stars for them. Super loud people. We heard large parties that were so far from us we could not even see them from our campsite. And please respect the number of cars per campsite. Shame. Have some respect for other people who are trying to get away and have a quiet relaxing weekend away.

Our site was nice and shady. We stayed in mid-October 2024, and ants and what I think were gnats were still very active. There were no mosquitoes that time though. It got cold at night, in the upper 40s, so bringing a portable heater would help. The restrooms were okay and were maybe about 100 meters from our site. There is no sink but there's a faucet right in front of the restrooms. We brought soap, clorox wipes (to wipe the seat), a towel and a small trash bag for when we needed to go. They would run out of toilet paper towards the end of the day and the host doesn't stock it until the next day. You can walk or drive to get to the dump station. I believe it was at least 500 meters from our campsite. Our kids, 9, 5 and 2 yrs old, were playing with just about anything they see - sticks, rocks, dirt.

Very quiet and relaxing. Although no fault of the campground, extreme temperature made it difficult to enjoy.
@RebeccaF466555 · Camped on Aug 31, 2024 at Campsite #3
There's partial shade at spot #3 with a restroom close by, but we had an uninvited 2 legged being come into our camp around 0130. Thankfully our dog scared what ever it was off. It's still too hot right now to camp there, we went for Labor day weekend, and there are a ton of ants. I wish we had reserved spot one because it had more shade. The sounds of nature at night were very nice and the stars were gorgeous.
@FabeoMA88C38CC · Camped on Aug 23, 2024 at Campsite #54
The campsite was in fair condition and in close proximity to water and restrooms. No tree coverage or shade on this site, so be ready for that during warmer months. Great site if you want to hike Oak Grove trail to High Point.

I would not reccomend this site to anyone. Im unsure where all the positive reviews are coming from. Im a solo camper with dogs so I like it when sites are well maintained so dogs dont get bit more than normal. However, this site was very disappointing, I visited in June and was supposed to stay 2 nights but the sites were not kept up at all, some were even closed and looked a mess so I was there for only 1 night and left. Leaves just everywhere, no proper space to put the tent, they cant properly call this a campsite and charge $38, should be free or way cheaper than that. Bathrooms were newer but tons of bugs (expected for summer weather). Its also way too close to the road and my site was right next to a property so it did not feel like a true camping experience.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
