Campground is good. We had a good time. There was a noisy group who kept talking and laughing till about 5am. Heard another neighbor ask them to quiet down a few times, but they didn't really listen. Host not to be seen. We were there for two nights and never saw the host. Bathroom closest to us was not clean, but found good ones a little farther.

It was overall a fun experience aside from being so close to a main road, we were on campsite 14 and it was pretty close to the restroom, it was kept clean and it felt safe. We did get some coyote visitors but other than that it was fun, would definitely go again.

I took my 11 year old daughter van camping for the first time. The good: beautiful clear skies for amazing stargazing, other friendly campers, plenty bathroom/toilets that were clean and well stocked, helpful camp host, and an easy campsite to navigate. The bad: red ants at almost all sites, and we had a loud group of campers across the way from us. Fortunately we found a site that didn't have ants that we were able to move to, and the loud campers turned off music and toned down their noise around 8pm. We will definitely be back to Oak Grove for kore stargazing or to watch a full moon rise.

Site 46 is easily the worst campsite on the grounds. Dont believe the good reviews. There are no trees and no shade. Its fenced off at the back so you cant go anywhere. Its downwind from the bathroom so you regularly smell everyones sh*t. I would never camp here again.

Very quiet and relaxing. Although no fault of the campground, extreme temperature made it difficult to enjoy.
@RebeccaF466555 · Camped on Aug 31, 2024 at Campsite #3
There's partial shade at spot #3 with a restroom close by, but we had an uninvited 2 legged being come into our camp around 0130. Thankfully our dog scared what ever it was off. It's still too hot right now to camp there, we went for Labor day weekend, and there are a ton of ants. I wish we had reserved spot one because it had more shade. The sounds of nature at night were very nice and the stars were gorgeous.

The campsite was in fair condition and in close proximity to water and restrooms. No tree coverage or shade on this site, so be ready for that during warmer months. Great site if you want to hike Oak Grove trail to High Point.

I would not reccomend this site to anyone. Im unsure where all the positive reviews are coming from. Im a solo camper with dogs so I like it when sites are well maintained so dogs dont get bit more than normal. However, this site was very disappointing, I visited in June and was supposed to stay 2 nights but the sites were not kept up at all, some were even closed and looked a mess so I was there for only 1 night and left. Leaves just everywhere, no proper space to put the tent, they cant properly call this a campsite and charge $38, should be free or way cheaper than that. Bathrooms were newer but tons of bugs (expected for summer weather). Its also way too close to the road and my site was right next to a property so it did not feel like a true camping experience.
@LillianL61D153 · Camped on Jun 22, 2024 at Campsite #35
Absolutely terrible experience. There were fire ants all over the campground. We spoke with other camp guests and they reported the same thing. In fact, a few people told our group they had been bitten multiple times, too.The campsites were also relatively close to each other so you could easily hear a regular conversation another camp group was having.
@ShelbyACD51E3D · Camped on Jun 22, 2024 at Campsite #39
Pros: Great privacy, lots of water spigots, and clean bathrooms. Cons: Lots of fire ants, bugs, and other animals to watch out for. Very limited shade and will get extremely hot in the summer.

There isnt much bad to say about this campground, but there isnt much good either. Its fairly basic with little activity surrounding. The campground itself is maintained well enough with flushing toilets and sources of water throughout. The site we stayed at (#38) was large enough for the kids to run around. We brought a pop up canopy which Im glad we did, as it gets hots with little shade covering. It seemed quiet enough overall and laidback. Its worth a try if youre looking for something new. Cheers!

Not much positive to say. Almost no shade, the tent was in direct sunlight from sun up to sun down Picnic table was dilapidated, almost a danger to use.Quiet hours are not followed. Parties were going strong well after midnight. Farm directly behind our tent had a yard light on all nightSame farm had a dog that barked all night. Farm down the road had a rooster crowing at 4:30 am. Toilets were gross, green slime caking the inside and no toilet paper. Toilets near entrance had a locking bolt on exterior that worried my wife. Trail across the street was not scenic unless you want to see old houses and junked cars. If I could give 0 stars, I would. We were in site 38.

There was enough space for 2 tents . The shrubs were pretty green and shaded in the morning . In the afternoon there was not much shade .

Great quiet campground during the week. Weekends another story. Noise and music festival , which is sad for such a nice area. Camp host was polite and kept the area clean. Like I said very quiet and less crowded during the week. Weekends completely opposite. ,

Nice campground. We stayed at site 57, which was partially shaded. Most campsites stayed empty the one night we were there, flush toilets were clean. During the day you can hear the sound of traffic going by on the road but at night its all nature sounds, the leaves dropping from trees, animals- dogs, coyotes, a cow, plus all the animals walking through all the foliage. There is a lot of tiny insects here, tons of ants, we swept the area to try and move them, but they did not bother us although we were careful with our daughter playing in the dirt. Not only ants but we kept finding spiders and insects all over us throughout the time. Overall a good place to stay if you want a short get away.

This was maybe my 5th time staying at this campground and unfortunately it will have to be my last. It has really gone downhill. The daytime and nighttime noise were awful. People were driving remote control cars, flying drones, yelling. It was far from peaceful. It's within the rules, I suppose, to be loud during the day, but quiet hours should be enforced. People at the next campsite were up way past quiet hours. I went to the camp host's trailer and knocked several times but he did not answer the door. What's the point of having a host if he doesn't enforce quiet hours?? Finally, after the neighbors went quiet, there was a loud barking dog, which many reviews have mentioned. If you are looking for peace, this is not the place. If you're deaf, though, it could be great.

The bathrooms were not clean with green stuff growing in the toilet bowls..it used to be such a nice and pleasant place to be...i really hope they find more resources to maintain the campground.

Lovely campground. People camping here seemed very nice and respectful of others. Even the partyers kept the noise down. Not a lot of hiking nearby but we were happy to walk around the campground.It is a bit sad to see so many trees being taken out, presumably due to bark beetle.View from our site overlooked the neighboring farm, it was lovely to watch the birds, squirrels, gophers and cows doing their thing.My biggest gripe is the camp host who was not very hosty. His site looked like a scrap yard, he has a big sign saying "beware of dog", we only saw him once walking his dog and he did not say hello to anyone. SR79 is an absolute beauty of a road, just be aware of some motorcyclists riding too fast.

Was very peaceful and quiet on the weekdays we were there, but campground is overgrown with weeds, picnic tables desperately need refinishing.
@JamieEB238DFE1 · Camped on Apr 13, 2024 at Campsite #59
This site had a interesting layout. It would be easier for smaller tents. It was close enough to the bathroom. Plenty big enough for two full sized trucks to park next to each other. The site is secluded enough that you wouldn't have anyone running through your site to get to the bathroom.

Rick the Camp Host was knowledgeable and helpful. I camped the same time last year and hope to return for longer next year.

Stayed 04/05 - 04/08.Bathroom needs light & major clean up. Camp host should do more frequent rounds to check on campers. Mobile phone coverage is bad. I use AT&T and coverage is bad.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
