One of the best cabins, but the stove was not working!

Was a nice shelter from the wind and the views out the windows were beautiful in every direction, stove worked fine!

Cabin was everything it was advertised to be. You will need to bring fuel for the stove if the weather is cold. The stove is for heating only - not cooking. We brought fuel, but didn't use it and just poured it in the tank to lighten our load on the way out. The Cabin is "conveniently" located at the junction of Devils Creek Pass trail and Resurrection Pass trail. Make sure you bring everything you need including toilet paper.

11/2 - 11/3/2022 Cabin was awesome. Brought in one gallon of Kerosene from AIH - we blasted the stove on high for an hour upon arrival, kept it off overnight, and then blasted it on medium/high again in the morning for a few hours and definitely did not go through the one gallon (only 4 or 5 hours of total stove use on medium to high). Creek beside cabin was still open to get water but snowpack is also plenty high to melt snow if needed

Hiked up from Cooper Landing side, camping in the Devils Pass campsite the night before. The pass is gorgeous and there were wildflowers everywhere. Cabin is about a mile from campsite, so we timed our hike so we arrived at the cabin at noon. This gave us the whole day to relax, enjoy a short day hike from the cabin, and nap on the deck in the sunshine.

Everything was in excellent shape—cabin, outhouse we’re both clean. Water is right there too from a rushing creek. Loved out stay—look forward to returning!

Devils Pass cabin is a MUST if you’re hiking through early on when there’s still significant snow between Devils Pass and Resurrection Pass (the campsites are under snow). It’s the only cabin on the tundra. Absolutely gorgeous views, creek beside the cabin and the outhouse is a real luxury.

Great cabin. Clean, with minimal trash left behind by previous campers. The oil stove worked perfectly. The step-by-step pictorials were excellent to get the stove up and running. However, even at the highest/warmest setting, we still required puffer layers while inside the cabin. Definitely bring more oil than you think you will need. We used 2 gallons. Got to the cabin at 330pm and left the next morning at 9am. We ran the stove at moderate while we were awake and on low while sleeping. We ran out of oil at 730am.

Awesome cabin awesome view, we felt like kings! Make sure to take stove oil. We got dumped on the last 30 mins of our ride and were so happy to warm up! Maybe everyone knows this already but where you add the oil to the stove is actually outside the cabin. It seeps into the stove then you light it inside. It took us a few minutes to figure it out but it worked great!

Folks should bear in mind that the heat in this cabin is not a wood fired stove

It's chilly without any fuel, but not too bad if you bring enough puffy clothes! Cabin is in a spectacular location and whatever route you take the trail is normally in good condition.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
