We were so glad to have booked this cabin as it was windy and pouring rain outside the whole night. Regardless of how warm you think its going to be I would recommend bringing a gallon of dieselit just makes it cozier (the fuel tank for the stove specifically says diesel only but it sounds like others have used kerosene as well). The loft easily fit all four of us, and the cabin itself was roomier than expected. Raven Glacier was spectacular, definitely check that out while youre up there.

Use caution in shoulder seasons. Winter came early and resulted in unstable snow pack preventing safe travel to reach the cabin.

Highlight of the trip was seeing a group of mountain goats nursing babies. Glad we had the cabin to stay warm in. It was cold. Cabin isn't well insulated, but it gets you out of the wind. Wished we had brought 3 gallons of kerosene for our 2 night stay. It was in the mid 30s while we we're there. My only real complaint was other people coming up to the cabin and looking inside while we were there. We had no way of marking the cabin as occupied. Went to the park rangers afterwards, and let them know. There is supposed to be something like a sign apparently, so I guess it went missing. I wish the pre-trip instructions had said something about how to light the heater. We didn't bring paper to light it. Had to use small pieces from the guest book. I also assumed the outhouse would've had toilet paper but it didn't. We will stay here again, but we'll pack differently.

Cabin exceeded expectations all around. The stove seemed to still have a leak, so we didn't try to use it, but it was warm enough without.

Great cabin and extremely easy to get to. It’s a very popular trail so expect people passing by and even peaking inside but worth it. Nice view, close water and the ability to drop gear and go explore more hiking/skiing depending on time of year.

Steep climb for the kids (ages 6, 9, 11) was WELL WORTH the effort to get up above the treeline and enjoy the alpine terrain. Mountain goats traveled through the camp, passing right outside the cabin as they traveled from one mountain to the next. Definitely recommend spending at least two nights so that you have a whole day to do nothing but play.
