Site 67 is a convenient site for lake access. During latter Sept 2024 lake levels were below the normal operating guide which made getting kayaks in and out of the lake challenging. Site was a little on the small side for a travel trailer, but still workable. Cell access (AT&T) in this location is good. Had to leave after two nights due to hurricane Helene, Forest Service closed the campground. Thankfully for the region, TVA had been operating the reservoir below the normal levels, so adding 10 feet of water in about 3 days was possible.

Nice site with view of the Dam. Sunset was beautiful.

2 ceiling fans on the men's side of restrooms have been non working for over 3 months. These fans help oxygenate the stalls during hot showers. The steam is so overwhelming when you get finished showing, you are sweating more than when you first went in. There are ventilation ducts in the ceiling but these ducts are not visible when viewing top of roof, so.....what is THEIR purpose? Clean, regularly serviced and in good repair are the Forest Service Recreation Customer Service Standards quality service goals. I would like to see these fans fixed and so would others. THANKS!!

We love this campground and have been camping here for over 30 years. We go during the week and avoid weekends because we are there for boating/fishing and don't like a crowded lake. We are also boondockers and don't care about utility hookups. Be aware there aren't any. There is potable water available and a good dump station. It is quiet during the week. I can't give a top rating because the central bathhbouse is in need of TLC and repairs. There is a good boat ramp available. Take everything you will need, it is a long drive to civilization. We will be going back soon.

The shower house needs 2 fans repaired in the mens side. The boat ramp needs a couple of holes repaired on the ramp.

Always a pleasure. A couple of things I wouldnt mind paying a higher price per site would be to make a sandy beach area for kids and widen the road going to the campground. Other than that great beautiful place to camp.

Site 64 is tge best site for kayaking, you can put ur kayak right in and leave them in. Bank is close to site. Good shade, not to many trees 4 hammock. But overall best site. Good cell service, I got the government free phone. Host was very nice.
@RichardE734484 · Camped on Apr 29, 2024 at Campsite #64
Site 64 is great for access to the lake and it's quiet as it backs to a cove vs. the main channel. Two things were a problem with the site: the grade as it drops from the road and side to side makes leveling an issue with a trailer. There were few level spots on the site. The other issue were some tree falls that had made the picnic table largely unusable due to damage and fallen trees blocking access to the lake through the established path. Popular loop had just opened that week so it's understandable that some work was still being done to get it in shape, would not normally be a problem. Overall Little Oak is a great place to camp and enjoy South Holston Lake, Good cell access in that area of the campground as well.

Toilets were clean and plenty of wood for campfires. The boat ramp needs some work.
@LeeE6993382 · Camped on Apr 15, 2024 at Campsite #24
Site 24 is a nice level site. The toilets are on the other side of the loop with easy access across a mowed field. The only draw back is Site 25 is very close, but no one was in the site during our stay. We always love our trips to Little Oak.

I liked the campground except for one thing. They should have kept the showers and bathrooms open until the end of the season.

Love staying here. This is our go to camp ground. Campsite 22 was very private and large. Vault toilet was fairly clean and well maintained. Aside from the yappy dog at the site 2 over from us, it was a very relaxing stay.
@JEFFH5417641 · Camped on Oct 13, 2023 at Campsite #39
The campground is well kept and beautiful. I would've given a perfect score if the shower houses would have been open. Mid October seems a bit early to close them for the winter, and a heads up that we weren't going to have showers would have been nice. One of our fire rings looked like someone backed over it with a car but that could have happened that morning before we arrived. All in all it was a great trip and a beautiful place to camp. We will be returning to Little Oak in the future.

Great campground, especially for the price. Only ran into one problem with quiet hours. After 10pm other campsites were being loud and playing music which can be heard throughout the entire camp ground. One night the noise continued until almost 2am. Other than that the campsite is great, wonderful location, beautiful sights, and super close to fun activities to do. Id definitely go again, would make sure to bring ear plugs.

Arrived to find the showers had been closed. There was no notice on the web site when I made my reservation.
@CARMANSC36F0E7 · Camped on Oct 9, 2023 at Campsite #39
We very much enjoyed our stay. However, I must admit that I was disappointed to see that certain loops were being closed earlier than the Nov. 6 end of season date.
@AdrianeJ687EE1 · Camped on Oct 6, 2023 at Campsite #17
The campground was fantastic, very quiet and beautiful. The only downside was that the camp host left at the beginning of the week and locked the bathrooms without notice. We camped here because there were flushing toilets and showers....except we couldn't access the toilets or showers for almost the entire week.
@LarryA1350788 · Camped on Oct 4, 2023 at Campsite #41
Beautiful setting. Nice camp cites. All restrooms should provide way to sanitize or wash hands. No soap in main restrooms.
@JoshC3817764 · Camped on Oct 1, 2023 at Campsite #17
Great area! It was very quiet through the night, the facilities were really well maintained, and the bathrooms/showers were clean and very private. Will be coming back here again for sure!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
