We loved staying at this campground. The sites are well spaced out and the campground is so pretty. There are plenty of trails to explore and we had a wonderful weekend. Would definitely highly recommend checking it out.

Chilhowee is a great place to camp! Lots of hiking and the lake is a bonus!

Beautiful drive up to the park. We camped in Loop A for three nights pretty much had the campground to ourselves. Not a lot of other mid-week campers this late in the year. Thoroughly enjoyed the trails around the lake and to Benton Falls. The facilities were fine. The campsites are large and spread out. The only downside is they don't have water but we filled our tank when we arrived at the campground and were fine. Will definitely be back.

Very beautiful park.

This campground was great! The road is narrow and windy, as described, but the sites are spacious and private and exactly as marketed. The trails were great for exploring, solo or win the family. We will be back!

Beautiful views, trails, and people. Bathrooms were clean and water was hot. Lovely experience. We will be back.

Overall, the facility is fantastic. The beach of the facility around the beach are really really nice. The problem I had was with the electric service in my campground, although it had 15 amp breakers when I plugged in by Jackery battery to charge it. It would blow the breaker. The jackery is 15 Amp max so shouldnt have blown that. It does not blow the amps in my house. Also, the sites that I was at were more of a group site than as advertised. It was five sites all closely packed with an open area in between those should not be considered individual campsites.

Noisy neighbors until 2 am. No one comes around and enforces quiet hours.

Labor Day Weekend, with popup and tent. Good time. Believe what they say about not using steep gravel road up from Benton; we made it, but barely. Come up from Ocoee Ranger Station and see great overlooks along the paved road. Swimming and Kayaking with our own boat good in lake near campground. Trail maps and signs are a bit confusing; there are signs, but hard to tell what trail they point to. Benton Falls, a popular destination, is not even on the signs, just the various trail names and numbers. Main complaint is about no-show campers, not the fault of campground. Area was sold out for weekend, we barely got a reservation, and then found numerous empty sites. Host said yes, they are technically now available, but they don't offer them because if the person finally shows, a day late, they get cranky. Sign was posted at Ocoee saying "all sites are full." Tent area with about 20 sites was completely empty, but apparently not counted by park, as they are not reservable, but are good sites. Appeared there would always be space. Biggest rigs don't come as much because of steep road and no water-sewer hookups. There are faucets along the road, and a dump station. Some electric. Nice almost new shower houses at campground and lake.

Great campground! Most of the spots are level and large with great tree coverage in between the camping spots.

We have stayed at several campgrounds this season and Chilhowee is by far our favorite. Beautiful area. Clean showers and bathrooms. A big bonus is the LoopA camp host. They have been awesome in answering questions and just being a friendly face. We will definitely be staying again.

Another wonderful trip to the top of the mountain. Campground wasn't overcrowded which makes the days and nights quiet and more relaxing. Plenty of shade over our site so the hot days were pleasant to sit and relax. The best thing about our trip was we was not bothered by the forest service. Actually, I didn't even see any forest service trucks all week other than the ones servicing campground garbage.

The fish where constantly nipping at us which was the only bad thing. Outside that the campgrounds and facilitys are beautiful and well maintained.

lots of hiking areas, and the waterfall is worth the trip. Nice, quiet, and wooded campground. We plan to come back :) we loved how isolated the sites were with a few that were close enough to each other for families to share.

I really enjoyed my time at the campground. It was clean and the facilities were close by. There was a loud garbage ? truck that came through at 4-4:30 in the morning that was disruptive.

Always a great camping experience up on the hill at Chilhowee

Overall, it was a good trip. The hot water heater was out in our bathhouse for two days. The bathhouses are in need of a major upgrade. Other than that, the park was beautiful as always.

A tornado had come through the area, and the forest the morning of my reserved camping. No electric, no water, no restroom admittance upon arrival. Port-a-potties were being brought in for all campers. Water was restored by 6pm. Electric service was restored the following day.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
