The campground was very nice. We were surprised that the restrooms had flush toilets. It has a sink but no soap. It is close to the cave and most sites have shade. The only downside is that you have to drive down the canyon to dispose of your trash or to get cell service as there is neither at the campground.

Great site. Too close to the main road that serves minatonka cave, as there is a TON of traffic. Camp host were nice and friendly to talk to.

This campground was a very small and pleasant place to stay over the weekend while enjoying bear lake. There was also good space between campgrounds so you couldnt hear other campers. Most sites have enough space for a large 6-10 people tent and a smaller 4 person tent and were mostly flat. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean and had flushing toilets which worked well. We rented site 14 and loved it. We were up the hill from the river that flows at the back of the campsite and when you stay quiet you can hear it flowing in the background. You could reach the river by small trails people have made but there is not much to do other than stand on the bank. Overall I would recommend this for someone looking for a nice getaway away from the campsites next to highway roads.

The campground is over used but in fairly good shape, needs some asphalt added to the sides of the driveways. Fire pit was full and had to clean it out myself.

Bathrooms were dirty and not working. We stayed in this location for 14 days and I dont think the bathrooms were cleaned once. The same pile of used TP was in the corner of the bathroom the entire time and the sink in the mens bathroom was plugged, with no attempt for repair. The dumpster for garbage is located about 5 miles away and was so full that garbage was piled around and on top.

Great spot

Hosts went above and beyond to make sure we were OK and if we had questions! Very clean, very quiet, great small wildlife watching (lots of different birds and little ground squirrels/prairie dogs). Easy to access, beautiful spot, will definitely be coming back!

Excellent camping sites, both for campers & tenting. Water is communal and not at every site. Close to the caves and Bear Lake north shore.

The campground was beautiful. We stayed at site 14 and could hear the water running. We were a little disappointed that we couldn’t really access the water from our site. The sites were well spaced and taken care of. The only negative was the campsite and Recreation.gov did not accurately advertise which sites were reservation and which ones were first come first serve.

Looking left from Hwy-89 didn't look like we'd have trees, but it was wooded & beautiful! Lots of shade from trees, didn't feel like neighbors were too close, flush toilets. Excellent campground!

Absolutely beautiful campground- the best up the canyon. Large sites with a good amount of privacy. Stayed in site 14 and felt totally secluded which was amazing. Could hear the River rushing by constantly which was relaxing. We did have to deal with a good amount of mosquitoes but just pack bug spray and you’ll be fine. 15 minutes up or down canyon to St Charles and easy access to the lake. No cell reception whatsoever once you enter the canyon, just to set your expectations 😊. One bathroom with a single mens stall and two woman’s stalls with flush toilets. Camp host was a few miles down canyon at Porcupine CG so bought our firewood there at $6/bundle. Can’t wait to stay again!

This site is really nice! It has the bathrooms right next to it basically, and the path is easy to get to. Plenty of shade from the trees, and there are a couple perfect flat tent spots. I recommend visiting the Minitonka Caves, they are right down the road and the entrance fee is a reasonable price! You can also visit Bear Lake which is a good distance, but it would be a good all day activity. :)

Very beautiful campground with lots of trees. We were on site 15 which was so spacious with 3 parking spots. Bathrooms have flushing toilets and were clean and well maintained. The host resides in a nearby campground named Porcupine campground so if you need anything like wood logs, you have to go there. We also took the tour of Minnetonka Cave which was just 2 miles away. Will be back next year!

Great campsite. Beautiful scenery. Lots of traffic but that is to be expected with the cave so close. My family enjoyed their stay.

Great spot, close to the cave, lots of shade, flushing toilets, water near the site. Some cow around left some crazy cow turds. Otherwise fine

I’ve been going to this camp ground for my entire life. The services have been reduced every year for the last few years. This year it was explained to me that we are discouraged from filling out trailer fresh water tanks using camp ground water. This was not in the rules on the website. The bathrooms did not have paper towels for most of the week. It did have soap this year which is unusual. Plan on bringing your own though because you never know. There have been rumors that the flushing toilets might go away also. I don’t know how true that is though.

Pretty campground. Close to Minnetonka Cave. Not too far from North Beach. One of our favorite places to camp!
@JeremyV540 · Camped on Jul 5, 2021 at Campsite #14
I have stayed at this campsite for years because it historically has been peaceful, beautiful, and clean. This time, it was noisy with late night parties, vandalized camp sites, overbooked sites, guests burning trash, and our next door campers chopped down two 70+ foot trees in their site…for firewood! I have license plate numbers, pictures, and video of this. Sad thing is, it all could have been avoided if the host would have ever done anything, but she didn’t. She specifically told us people were complaining about some of the guests but when she confronted them, they offered her food so she felt bad getting after them. This camp host was seen 1 time during my five days…what a joke.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
