The experience was good

We originally made reservations in F loop which has no electricity. Upon arriving, we looked into C loop which has electricity. We found one site in C that was available and we were able to move into it instead. The site, C07 was a pull through and shaded. The campsite was very quiet and clean.We did hear some traffic noise from the main road but it wasn't bad. The restrooms were pretty clean as well. The camp host, Janet was a nice lady and very accommodating. We are picky with which campgrounds we will stay at and this one was great. Will likely stay there again.

Only wish the water bibs were closer to spaces some are just to far to fill water tanks.

We were next to the outhouse, and the smell was bad at certain times, but still had a great time

Buffalo is well managed and our hosts were polite and accommodating. The restrooms were clean, garbage containers well maintained and dumped regularly. The fire pit was clean as was the site when we arrived. I was surprised at how hard the hosts worked for our benefit. On the negative side - the access road in from the main highway needs to be repaved. I walked all of the loops in the campground and was surprised that the entry (the space to park and put an RV) to the campsites in two of the loops were unpaved. That is something that should be noted in the description. Other than that, this is a terrific campground situated on the banks of the Buffalo river and in the heart of Island Park, Idaho.

Excellent campground with good space between campsites. Enjoyed floating down the Buffalo River and getting our right at our campsite.

Very nice campground in Caribou-Targhee NF. Sites are well maintained, clean and generally have plenty of room. Amazing that this campground is about 30 miles from Yellowstone West Gate and it had multiple open sites the entire time we mere there.

We had a Great time!!

easy on and off the highway. Roads mostly paved. Some sites have direct access to the river, or you can access right off the bridge at the Sinclair gas station. Water is very calm. Be prepared to feed the mosquitoes as soon as the sun goes down. Lots of water spigots to fill your tank- although theyre a bit hidden. And werent we surprised when F07 was not what it showed on the map or description. Its actually a pull thru and one up from the campsite map. Sites are paved but many not level. Beautiful area.

Hardly ever saw the hosts but the bathrooms were spotless as was the campground. Nice to have a little mowing where needed.

Buffalo is the best campground in Island Park. Loop C, site 6 is almost perfect in terms of distance to water, grey water disposal, and restrooms. The door of our RV faces into the forest with no one on that side. Its quiet, peaceful, and has lots of shade.

We reserved our site for three nights. The camp hosts were wonderful - very attentive, professional, and friendly. The sites were well-cared-for, the toilets were kept as clean as could be, and the camp hosts made sure we knew about current bear activity. The two sites we ended up using were nicely shady (we had a tent.) We really enjoyed our visit and look forward to going again soon!

We have come to this campground a couple of times. Both times were great. We love that they have a grey tank dump station, and that they had potable water spouts to use. We have stayed in F loop and B loop. Both were equally as good. Its a beautiful campground, tall trees and the river not far away. You want to have mosquito spray because of the river, lots of mosquitoes; but not annoyingly. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful campground CleanFriendly hostsWell kept Only problem was when the camp host was blowing off the paved areas and blew all the dust and pollen right onto our trailer, vehicle, stove, and everything.

restrooms are not handicap accessible. Restrooms are not lighted. Bear box layout is questionable, each 2 campsites share one box, not close to either site. Everything else is very good.

Really beautiful area, good level spot on a nice loop. Mosquitoes of course but only early and dusk hour.

Always a nice, relaxing place to vacation. We love Mesa Falls, Quake Lake, Big Springs, West Yellowstone, Yellowstone Park, Yellowstone Playhouse, and just enjoying the beauties of the area.

Very nice campground. Clean. Sites adequately spaced. Easy to get to, that is right off the highway. Plenty of room for our 32-foot motorhome.

We always enjoy camping at Buffalo! Hosts Janet and Eddie keep the campground clean and are super nice to visit with.

Clean sites, well spaced out for privacy. Camp manager called to make sure we would be there on time and later stopped by personally to welcome us to the camp.

We only spent one night here in the RV loop on our way to Yellowstone NP. This is a great campground, close to the river, with probably the cleanest vault toilet I've ever seen. We'll definitely be back for a longer stay

I stayed for four nights. I attended a fly fishing event in West Yellowstone and spent a couple of days fishing the ranch section of the Henry's Fork. The campground was clean and quiet. Will be back someday.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
