So it was a great quiet campground. However campsite 18 is not flat and was difficult to setup the trailer. The hookups for the electric and water and sewer were too far away and I had to go purchase extensions. There were other flat spots that were open but the website wouldn't let me change sites because they didn't open them online until Inwas getting ready to leave on Monday. I was considering just using one, but I didn't want to accidently take someone's spot. Overall I would come back here again, just not use site 18

Campgrounds themselves are sufficient. Although you may hear dogs barking in the distance at surrounding country properties. Also you can hear the hwy 20 (not too high traffic). Also, lake Mendocino was very low and seemed more like a geese pond. We paddleboard for 20 mins and got out because the water seemed gross. I would camp here again, but it definitely wouldnt be my top 5 choices.

Unfortunately, family matters took over our visit. I requested a refund for now and we're hope to reschedule before the sunny days are gone. SRB

This campground is not maintained well nor monitored. No one was at the station to direct us or check us in. Our campsite was filthy, including condom wrappers and a used condom on the ground. The "Potable" water was brown, and the bathrooms were consistently filthy despite being serviced and they did not provide soap to wash your hands. On one occasion, only one of three toilets was functional in the women's restroom. The other two overflowed all over the bathroom floor. There were many partiers with loud music and shouting well past the 10PM quiet time. On our first night, the Sheriff was called to break up a fight and eject a loud, drunk group at 2:30 AM. Never going back.

Very disappointed. Two nights of very loud parties that went on until after 4am. The second night there were to camps on either side of our two camp sites that were up all night. Fighting, very loud music and vulgar talking. One camp was under age drinking and I parent came to clean up and get kids out of there at 4:30am. Doors slamming and people yelling. Camp ground host did not get involved and didnt care two nights in a row when we complained. We had children ages 2 to 12 that were hearing vulgar conversations and cussing. I will never take my family back.

Love the area where we were at. Bathroom & shower was near by and the lake is just a walk away. Really enjoyed our time there. Will visit again soon.

Rustic but very pleasant. Looks like it needs a higher level of dry weed control. Poor cell reception in the area so it was hard to make a reservation on the spot.

The setting is lovely, and the campsites are well-shaded and situated. However, I was really disappointed by the amount of trash everywhere. Dirty diaper on the shoreline, broken pop-up sun shelters abandoned on the beach, cans and bits of Kleenex everywhere. Our campsite had a pile of dry cat food mixed into the dirt as well as a lot of small bits of detritus everywhere. Made me sad that thoughtless and/or lazy people ruin it for the rest of us.

Campground was fine. Could use some maintenance. The site next to ours had the sewer pipe broken off. One night a massive fight broke out because someone stole another person's campsite. The victim of the stolen campsite had his face smashed with a maglite flashlight by the people who stole the site. Many sheriff's vehicles and ambulance came with lights flashing around 11pm. Lake is nice and warm. Bring yellow jacket traps!!

It's a party place during the summer. Quite time starts at 10 pm, but people were blasting music until after midnight. Barely got a few hours of sleep. It was family friendly though, and the lake is right there. Full service bathrooms and showers.

Beautiful lake and nice campgrounds. Wish they would get the bottom half cleaned up and ready for use

Excellent campground! Clean, well shaded, easy to access electric hookup, good clean water spout, clean restrooms, clear signage on the campsites. And the host was very kind and respectful

What a pleasant campsite! The sites are separated from each other nicely so that campers don't feel crowded on top of each other and the trees and grass and lake so close make it very nice!

we had a nice, quiet overnight stay. enjoyed the opportunity to walk on the lakefront with the dogs

Overall the campground, including the restrooms is clean, but the beach at the lake is cluttered with debris and trash. The park is quiet at night. Well go back.
@BarbaraO702A0F · Camped on Nov 1, 2023 at Campsite #1
We understand that the park is older. It appears that there have been significant renovations. The view of the lake is wonderful.However, there was significant litter throughout the park. There was a host present. I think we are sensitive to this issue because my husband and I were hosts with Oregon State Parks for 10 years. It needs very little effort, but the results are important.

Great location. Had a covered area with 6 pinic tables and the parking was very close. Right next to the water. Bathrooms close by as well.

No where on the campgrounds site does it say the gates close at 10:00, so here I am sitting outside the gates with no where else to go.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
