Carpinteria Campground is part of Carpinteria State Beach in California (just 18 min east of Santa Barbara, CA) with an elevation of 7 feet. There are a total of 186 campsites. The campground is open all year. 185 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 16 and 35 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 91 sites have electric and water hookups. Fees range from $10.00 to $290.00. Some amenities include shower, accessible, swimming, restroom, amphitheater, ramada, flush toilets.

Spot 359 is right on the beach. We pulled our trailer up to the sand, pulled out the beach chairs and had an unobstructed view of the ocean. The spots are tight, so you really get to know your neighbors. These spots are full hookup. The bathrooms and showers in the Santa Rosa camp area are new and really nice. Campground in general is in very good shape despite the heavy use. If you do camp here bring some mineral oil to clean your feet. There is natural occurring tar in the area and it can get on your feet when you walk on the beach. Cell phone reception for AT&T was very good. Short walk I to town too. Nice quaint beach town.

This back in site, we think, is the best in this loop as far as size goes. It’s dry camping, overpriced for what you get, but we do like it here. Table, fire pit, level. Not a lot of privacy, but it is a large site. We camped here with our truck camper. The biggest negative is the train, it is very close. Carpinteria is a very cute town within walking distance. The beach is easily accessible and public both north and south of the campground. Restrooms are old and dated. This is a very busy large park. Part of the year it is first come, first serve.
