Quiet campground near the lake.

Such a beautiful campground. Great tree coverage and right off the water. Bathrooms were very well kept and the camp host was great. Only thing to keep in mind that this camp ground has a dock so you do end up with extra traffic for boat loading and people accessing the water, otherwise great site

French creek is a great spot, the downside is there is little to no lake access there for swimming. The water at dock nearby was gross and very buggy. Its also located next to the road so there are consistently cars passing through (even during the middle of the night). Hosts were very nice & walked the campground frequently. Scenery is beautiful

Lower French creek is not anywhere I would ever go. This is where our original spot was. Upon arrival the camp host dog came out running around us barking. The host could not recall her dog and it ran around flared up barking at my kids and tried getting in the truck where my wife and dog was. At this point I asked the host if we could switch spots because of her dog. She seemed offended but said I could go look for any first come spots. We found a beautiful spot at the upper grounds. The host was the main issue with our visit.

This is a nice campground! It was really buggy, but thats to be expected when the lakeshore is as marshy as it was. Dont expect stellar lake access it exists, but its very swampy and not fit for launching a boat or hanging out. The campground itself was quiet and relatively clean. We spent two nights in two different spots, each of which had plenty of space and good tent pads. Its nearby a pretty loud and dusty road, so not quiet. The camp hosts were not very friendly. Beware that lake access for hanging out or getting in the water is very limited all around Lake Cascade! But overall, its a beautiful spot and we had a nice weekend.

Access to lake was not ideal. Not good for small children. Our campsite was right next to the road so loud and dusty.

The camp hosts were very friendly and toilets were clean. The campground was quiet.

Mid week camping was uncrowded, clean pit toilets and quiet. Mosquitoes were everywhere and aggressive. Fly population was also high. Bugs were worse than on same location two weeks earlier.

Great campground but.... It's close to the graveled road and our campsite was continually dusty from vehicles, ATV's, motorcycles and Side-by-Sides racing by. And of course, the noise. The section of road along the campground needs to be oiled to keep the dust down, and a lower speed limit needs to be put in place. in addition, the parking on site #12 was very uneven, tilting our trailer to the point we had to jerry-rig a platform on one side much higher than normal to level it. Aside from these minor inconveniences, we enjoyed the campground and location. I would recommend reserving a site higher up than ours that is more protected from noise and dust.

Cute little park next to the lake along the French creek. Sheep herds will go by the camp almost daily

My wife and I had never stayed at the French Creek Campground. We own a 34' Keystone Cougar travel trailer. In looking at the campground details there is one site, #16 listed as tent only, and the other are listed as tent, RV, and travel trailer. The RV/trailer lengths vary from 30' to 45'. I choose #15 because it would accommodate a 45' RV/Trailer. When we arrived the first observation was how tight the spots are. We looked at #15 and decided to give it a shot. I have full confidence backing a trailer, and my approach was good. However, due to the tight turn needed to get the trailer in the spot, the front wheels of the truck had to be on the very edge of the road ... the road gave away and the truck dropped enough that the tongue of the trailer was in the dirt. This could have been a catistigfic situation, and I was extremely lucky I was able to get out of this. I had to back up a bit more, put it in 4 wheel, and creep the front wheels back on the road. A short time later it begin to rain, had it been raining when this happed, I would not have been able to get out of this predicament. In closing, this is a great spot if you are in a tent, or a cabover camper, but anyone hauling a trailer with any length has no business there. Maybe an R-Pod would be okay, but this site should not be listing that it can accommodate travel trailers, especially a 45' trailer. We got lucky and found another campsite at the state park. I canceled the French Creek reservation, and received a partial refund. I believe a full refund would have been appropriate ... had I become stuck and had to call for help, I would be doing more than leaving a review.

The campground was very well maintained by the camp host and they were extremely friendly and helpful. All services worked well and the views were fantastic. The camp host also was considerate in warning us about the algae bloom in Cascade lake. We definitely will be visiting this site again.

We really enjoy the campsite and the area. We had someone right next to us but still felt like we had privacy!

French creek campground was a bit of a disappointment. Its right by the dirt road and there seems to be alot of ATV traffic. No hiking trails within walking distance. Trees block the view of the lake. On the plus side there is plentiful shade and water faucets. Bathrooms were clean.

Campsites are close together and people were really loud up until midnight/1am every night. Bathrooms are very clean. The dirt road coming to the campsite isn't maintained so it's a bit rough to drive on.

The waters edge in July was swamp like.. the two dock were 20 from the water. The camp host was rude and not very compassionate to a grandmother and four granddaughters camping alone! I will never return to French creek

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
